I believe we are going to draft Watson #2 overall. I will be ecstatic and finally we will have a franchise QB that can consistently help us win games and eventually, once our team is built back up, help us win championships

Let's look at why Watson should have an excellent 2016 campaign:
1. He excels on downfield throws
Watson's late-season exploits included a number of long touchdown throws, with the QB consistently making big plays in the clutch. Overall, Watson was accurate on 47.5 percent of his deep targets, throwing for 1,196 yards and 18 touchdowns on passes of 20-plus yards. Only Bowling Green's Matt Johnson found paydirt on more occasions in 2015. Watson was a little aggressive on occasion, throwing seven picks on deep targets, but he made many more positive plays than mistakes, especially late in the year.
Watson's arm talent is very impressive (more on that below), but he isn't just a fastball thrower, as he shows impressive touch down the field. Clemson's postseason run started in the ACC Championship game, with Watson leading the team over North Carolina in a shootout. The play below illustrates the type of plays he can make down the field. The location on this deep sideline throw is perfect.
Watson flashed his downfield touch consistently over the final few games. He doesn't try to throw the ball too hard, instead putting enough air under it to allow his receiver to get into position. He can also throw with touch to the intermediate level, particularly in the red zone, and at all levels he shows the ability to take heat off the ball when required.
4. He has the arm strength to fit throws into tight windows
As much as Watson relies on his ability to put touch on the football, his complete skill set makes him a dominant quarterback. He can avoid the risk involved in tight windows with the kind of heat most quarterbacks are unable to achieve, and it allows him to throw late against zone coverage on occasion.
I almost fell asleep waiting for that ball to come back down to the WR.

No he's not elite. Put any top 10 qb on that insanely stacked team and you have potential super bowl winners.

Guy from PFF writes that the deep sideline throw resulting in a long TD in a conference championship game was perfect, but Joe Internet says the ball didn't "come back down to the WR" fast enough thus nullifying all arm strength considerations. Got to love the internet.

People on here are acting like he has the same arm as Shaun hill lmao
The guys arm is more than good enough to excel in the NFL.

And yet both (PFF guy, and me) are "internet opinions" (though PFF guy's opinion should be given far more weight).
What's better than opinion? Let's check data.
Let's check the measured number:
49 MPH.

Except it probably isn't.

I wanna believe that Watson can be a successful NFL qb. But someone's gotta explain why he's gonna be so much better than Tajh Boyd. Boyd had similar success, won big in bowl games. A s**t ton of touchdowns and yards in his years playing. He was qb right before Watson so he played with some familiar faces. Looking at their scouting reports, they had the same concerns and strengths.
Now days he can't even get a job in the Canadian football league.
Watson is clearly a better player, no doubt about it. But is he so much better than Boyd that hes gonna be successful in the NFL? Their college careers were pretty similar, but the difference between quality NFL starter and can't get a job as Canadian league qb is astronomical.

The logic you're using doesn't really make sense. It's like saying
"Why would trubisky excel at the next level if no other UNC QB ever has? Nor has any qb that played in the same system under the same coach (Check Austin Davis)
Stats can be very deceiving. You have to watch them play and see how the offense was ran through them or they just played a part in it and benefited. etc. their intangibles Like leadership.
You look at the player and their body of work beyond stats
It's why trubisky has so many questions, was he going to continue to be good as more tape was on him? Etc.
No one knows how these guys will turn out. I just like Watson as a better prospect. I hope they both do well.

Boyd and Watson ran the same offense and Boyd was a great leader that transformed that program. He had that crazy game against Ohio in some bowl game where he took over.
Mitch ran a different offense than marquise. Marquise was in an offense where he ran as much as he threw. While Mitch's offense was all about pass first. Marquise had more wins but didn't mean he was better, just had a more effective system against his opponents. Those are two that can't really be compared, Apple to oranges. Which is why I never brought that up in the Mitch thread.
Boyd had a good body of work, he didn't have enough wins to take them to the big game but he definitely rose to the occasions in bowl games.

Explain the exercise in steps if you truly understand it? Seriously.
