Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

[ Edited by TheBlueHell on Oct 1, 2017 at 5:04 PM ]
He looks great but so did Kap. Need to see if he keeps it up or teams adjust to his game.
This appears to be a great throw, but we'll need to see the mph before we can give him credit. Does anyone got a radar gun?

Wasn't the same. Can't adjust to accuracy.

Watson is a better pocket passer today then Kap has ever been.

I didn't really see the game only a bunch of highlights, but I can agree with this. Watson had a good game today, it doesn't hurt to have DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller by your side either.

I have a question for those who have watched him. Does his success come from him landing on a team that had everything except a QB or is he just that good and covering up the deficiencies on that team?

IMHO all Texans needed was a QB.

I agree with that, I think they are going to be a contender now and in the future..

True that. Baalke left us with a lot more holes on the roster than Houston had. It's good to see him ball out tho. That whole "pro style" QB mess can take the back seat now.

Take a back seat.

O'Brien is calling plays to Watson's strength, he's not asking him to stay in the pocket and make that 3, 5 or 7 step drop on a consistent basis. O'Brien is putting Watson in his comfort zone, a lot of shot gun plays and play-action. Every offensive head coach has their own vision of a QB they want running their offense, Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes and Kizer just weren't it.

Yep.....you all remember how Kap looked when Harbaugh toned down the playbook for him until teams caught on. Not saying it will happen to Watson but if he can't sling it from the pocket while looking off CB's and Safety's and going through progressions, it will be a wrap soon. So only time will tell.
