Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson - Legit alternative to Jared Goff in 2017?

Funny thing is that price is actually gonna go down (if it ever gets to that point) because he gets to choose where he's going....it's not gonna be highest price wins end of the day.

NY why you say? Does he have a no trade clause or sumting?

And wtf would we trade those assets away for a player who hasn't even sniffed the Super Bowl!!!??? We have a QB on our roster who actually PLAYED in the Super Bowl

I just don't have the words for how absurd this is.

Nick Foles was a SB MVP and that makes him more valuable than Deshaun Watson or Josh Allen?
Put Deshaun in the 2019 roster and that's a Superbowl win guaranteed. I promise Watson doesn't miss Sanders on that throw.
Consider Watson gets all his production with garbage OL, WR and washed up RBs. And his defense is ranked bottom tier at every category. Not to mention clueless coaching.
Hey Kaep played a SuperBowl as well, so everyone who has a QB who hasn't should go and sign him asap. See how dumb it sounds?
We can't get him, Nick Mullens already wears #4.

DS can wear 10
I'd be in tears if we could pull this trade off. A legit qb with these weapons and this defense.

Watson has only been in league 4 years. All things equal, would you rather have JG than Watson? Gross. Watson has never had a 100yd rusher either and has played behind worse OLs than SF and he still produces. That's like saying Stafford isn't as good as JG cause he hasn't sniffed a SB. But Brad Johnson, Rex Grossman, Trent Dilfer, Jake Delhomme have all been in the SB....pretty sure they still suck and aren't half the QB Watson is.

The Houston Texans have a 4-12 record this year WITH a healthy Deshaun Watson!!! What's Watson's excuse?? I can only imagine the 9ers having a 4-12 record with a healthy Watson.....he would be eaten alive by this fan base!!! At least Jimmy G has a valid reason this year.

Okay!!! I am speaking to what Houston may be asking for to get him. Do you ACTUALLY believe he's worth that? The ONLY QB worth that might be the dude in KC. And it only takes one career ending injury screw up your party

Allowing Derick Henry to rush for 200 yards each time they play him, also worst defense in the NFL
Garbage OL
Garbage WR
Washed up RBs
Terrible coaching
Him and JJ were the only guys constantly trying o win on that team

Correct, he has a no-trade clause basically the life of his contract...he can waive it if he wants. He's not gonna do that to join another rebuild end of the day. People keep forgetting to talk about that when bringing up all these hypotheticals.

So going off that thought process...

Joe flacco actually won a Super Bowl lol...so you'd take prime Joe over Watson because of that?

You'd take Jared Goff over Watson, because he went to a Super Bowl?

Stop

Id take Brad Johnson over all 3

Sign me up for Dilfer or Grossmen

That's a mean lineup. According to the Patrick Willis thread those 3 have a better shot at the HoF cause of their Super Bowl winning ways.

They wouldn't have a a 4-12 record with Watson, so this makes no sense. You're basically saying Mullens is better than him then lol.

Last I checked our HC isn't Crennel/O'Brien and we actually have some talent on our roster.

Texans had the 13th overall offense and 30th overall defense lol.

Talent is talent and Watson is on another planet compared to Jimmy jim jam.

People still using winning % as a QB stat

I think i found the reason(s) he was 4-12 as a starter. 2020 Houston Texans defense:
27th in points allowed @ 29.0 ppg
32nd in run defense @160yds/game
24th in pass defense@ 257yds/game
30th in yards/game @ 417 yds/game
yikes

Their run defense may be terrible but at least their pass defense is too.

3 1st rounders and 1 2nd rounder? Get bent!

.@PFF laid out a hypothetical trade for Deshaun Watson that had the #49ers sending their 2021 1st, 2022 1st, 2023 1st, 2021 2nd, and Jimmy Garoppolo to the Texans for the QB.
