Clemson QB Deshaun Watson is taking 2 summer courses in order to limit his fall school workload to 5 hours. More time for football.

He'd look good in red and gold

.......as a wide receiver of course.

LOL he's not your guy I know...IMO he's a lot like Mariota (a little smaller) he's got great accuracy, strong arm, is stupid athletic, and is smart. Hopefully we won't be debating about him after this season (Blaine or Kap show up and play well) but QB is most likely gonna be a top priority and he's the best of the bunch for Chip's system.

John Clayton is still relevant?

Buyer's remorse.
Alternative??? Hes better than Goff...and I'm a big on Goff 2..hes the #1 pick next year book it.. Garret is the only other player I see relatively close to taking the #1 spot from him...this is my super duper 2017 draft prediction

I think he'd be perfect for Chip's offense....big arm, smart, accurate, can run and plays in a similar offense. He's show he can win with his legs (Oklahoma game) and he showed he can win with this arm (Alabama game).

Only thing that hurts him is his size 6-2 210
Why don't people like Watson? I haven't heard a reason yet that holds up to scrutiny. His height isn't ideal, but he isn't short, and there have been PLENTY of successful QB's who are shorter than 6'3". Other than that: what? He doesn't flee the pocket early like typical "running QBs," he throws accurately at all levels, he moves through his progressions, he wins, and he is competitive. He might not be the next huge star, but there is no way to be sure of that with any prospect.

I agree...I don't get the hate Do people even watch his games? He's not a run first QB. Dude single handedly kept them in that National Title game.

400+ yards cmp% of 63.8 4TDs and like 73 yards running against that great Alabama defense AND that was without his #1 WR Mike Williams all year

Cause he can run. People are afraid of that fact.

Right that's what most college QBs coming out can do now....you think everyone would have felt the same way if we were in a position to Marcus Mariota because he can run lol?

Goff's mechanics and pocket presence was much better than Watsons and those are two key attributes for NFL. He does some things better than Goff and certainly has better athletic ability but I wouldn't say it's fair to say he's better than Goff. At least not if you're looking at NFL potential IMO.

Goff is the better pocket passer and that's what you want in your NFL QB first.

Watson's arm strength and accuracy are a little better to go along with the athleticism. He has more NFL potential than Goff, but will need to work on some of the little things Goff does well already like footwork in the pocket and keeping his eyes in tandem with his feet.

If both QB's came out this year, I'm still convinced Watson would have been the #1 pick. Garrett may have gone higher than Goff and Wentz too.
