I'd like to draft this guy with one of our 5th or 6th round picks.

Unless we're drafting 2 QB's I don't wanna see us draft a QB later than the 2nd.

Makes no sense to draft a QB if there is no QB worth drafting. Beyond the top two guys its a crapshoot while the daft is rich in OL and DL.

I'm fine with drafting one early QB and one late QB. I really like this kid. good arm, can run, best 40 time among QB's, touch on his passes (screen play at 2:17 & lob at 3:02 in particular), good leader, 122.0 inch broad jump, 32 inch vert jump, 6'4, 33-1/2 inch arm length, 235 lbs, 9-3/4 inch hands... Has all the tools of a Chip Kelly QB also..

Was at Florida and although a good recruiting school with a ton of credibility as a University, they gave him the Tebow treatment and didn't teach him much according to a lot of fans...
"Jeff Driskel is a good QB. You have to have some coaching to transition from HS to college. He got it at La Tech (good enough a program for Terry Bradshaw to play in). He didn't get it at UF. End of story. More importantly, he's a great kid who didn't deserve the abuse Gator Nation piled on him" - Gator Fan
In his lone season at Louisiana Tech, he passed for 4,033 yards with 27 touchdowns (only 7 int's).

I made some great friends during my time at Florida, and it was those experiences that led to my success at Louisiana Tech. After only being at Louisiana Tech a few months, it was a great honor to be voted team captain.
What tape should an NFL front office see to watch you at your best?
I would go with the New Orleans Bowl this year against Arkansas State. (Jeff went 26-38 458 yards and 3 touchdowns
I've spoken with some football folks and a name I hear a lot as a comparison to you is Kansas City Chiefs QB, Alex Smith. What do you think of that comparison?
I've heard that too and all I can say is it is a humbling comparison. I guess that I am about the same size as Alex and have a similar game, but to draw the comparison to a playoff test quarterback is a great honor.

I'm skeptical of a player who couldn't hack it at Florida when they didn't exactly have the greatest depth chart.

I'd go as high as a 5th round pick for this kid.

Word is they were impatient with him and Will Muschamp had a terrible staff for developing QB's.. Then he got hurt and they just moved on since it took him a little longer than he would have liked to come back. All that changed at LT.
Top high school QB prospect in the nation is tough enough also.
Driskel attended Paul J. Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida. During his career he threw for 4,844 yards and 36 touchdowns. As a senior in 2010 he was theMaxwell Football Club National High School Player of the Year and the Gatorade Florida Player of the Year.[1][2] He was ranked as the best pro-style quarterback recruit in his class by Rivals.com and Scout.com. He became Florida's starter as a sophomore in 2012. He led them to an 11–2 record and a berth in the 2013 Sugar Bowl. After starting three games in 2013, Driskel broke his right fibula in a game against the University of Tennessee and missed the remainder of the season.

I've always liked the idea of drafting a young QB late in the draft.. one that we feel has a potential to grow even if we had picked a QB in the 1st round.. heck, you never know how it may turn out..
My late round QB pick would be the kid from Indiana or Michigan..

I like his talent, skill set, demeanor, leadership, and productivity. I like that he made an impression on his new teammates quickly enough that they passed over guys they'd played with for years to vote him in as a captain. I'm still nagged by his own account that he primarily chose LT because he saw the HC hug his QB after a big interception. I'm trying not to read too deeply into that, but it doesn't smack of mental toughness and resiliency to me. A QB here would need thick skin and self-reliance.

I just see what the Redskins got in Cousins after not only drafting a QB early, but moving up at a steep price. It makes me want to take a shot on a hungry kid that will compete hard to win out with the history to back that expectation up. He can throw but also has the ability to run. I see a little Alex, plus Romo when he was young in there.
If we were to get lucky and be able to land Goff should the Rams go for Wentz, adding Jeff Driskel would be amazing for our young group..
Goff
Gabbert
Driskel
A great 3 for Chip to work with

It's probably just that "heart touching" cliche he knows people want to hear, but to him was likely just the cherry on top of a quality list of reasons he chose LT.
