Let me just quote myself Dec 28, 2015 at 11:26 AM "The only thing "pro-style" is he takes some snaps under center. But its still a lot of single read passes. What he is running is a lot more Memphis style then Stanford style. Almost all his "big plays" are out of the shotgun."

This kid has a lot to like, all the physical tools you want in a QB..next step is to learn more and dedicate himself to understanding defenses..if he can do that then he can be very very good as an NFL QB..

You never want to draft a kid who needs to work on his football intelligence/study habits. It rarely goes well.
Much safer to go with guys who are football junkies who may not have the elite physical tools.

The only reason he would need work reading defenses is bc he plays at Texas tech..I'm not saying he's lazy I'm saying he has to learn the game more bc TT offense is a gimmick but Mahomes has everything that makes teams drool over..lots of potential

Which is a big reason why those QB's fail. They aren't able to do those things. They are made to look better because of the system not because of their abilities. Physical traits almost never trump mental. If they did JaMarcus Russell would still be QBing Oakland. I wouldn't mind him in round 3 but waiting that long is risky.

He might not come out but I forget who said it, maybe Phoenix, but a perfect fit would be Arizona and I think if he does come out after his workouts he will boost his stock and go in the 2nd..my opinion for the niners there are 1 of 3 options..Watson early, Mahomes in the 2nd with them challenging Kap for the starting spot or trade their 2nd for Jimmy G..1 of those 3 things id love for to happen..

Kaepernick's 4.52 was extremely generous. Mariota looks like he beat him by 0.05-0.1 seconds here. Also beat him in the vertical and broad jumps at the combine. My point was really that Trubisky isn't a Colin Kaepernick type of athlete either.
I'm rooting for a slight trade back if Garrett is off the board, but I'm not sure there would be interest in moving up. If we can't move back a little, I'd probably take Trubisky too.
No trade backs I want trade ups lol...no more waiting ona qb get your guy (if Myles is gone) and trade back up to get other impact guys. Get four solid prospect and overspend if you have to on young FAs.
Mitch is more than athletic enough and what he does is perfect for chip's offense or say a WCO timing based scheme.
I think Allen and Garret are prospects teams might move up for.

Who's moved to one for a defensive player? If Myles is there he's the pick.

If the 49ers got him in the 4th-7th round I'd be OK with that. 1st or 2nd round hell no, expectations would be too high on a QB that needs a lot of growing to do.

A team is going to fall in love with the potential..his arm strength, accuracy, touch on the ball and scrambling ability are great..thats a lot to work with..if he declares hes going in the 2nd..
