Patrick Mahomes QB

This is the only I guy I see that's 2nd round worthy who could cause us to pass on a QB in the 1st.
I was hoping he would! This is exciting news. More options for us and Trent is gone as GM so we might actually draft a QB.

Not saying he is the best prospect this year because I have barely looked, but Mahomes is the guy I want. He just reminds me of Wilson and Dak. Not the most polished but he moves his feet to keep the play alive and then a pretty deep ball.
The 2nd round just got a lot more interesting. He still needs to sit for a year or two and learn to play the position at the NFL level.

The downside is the more options there are at QB, the more likely it is the Browns take Garrett at #1 knowing they'll have a chance to grab a QB at 12 or 33. If Josh Allen declares for the draft, we can kiss our chances of getting Garrett goodbye in my opinion.
I can see the Cardinals using a 1st on him. Lots of talent, fits Arians style, and can sit a year until Palmer is done.
Like Mahomes, but I hope he sits for a loooong time. To say he is raw is an understatement. The guy has terrible footwork, throws from a really awkward base, is erratic with his field reads, etc. Sometimes he looks like a world beater, and sometimes he looks absolutely erratic. he needs a lot of work and time invested into him, but he could provide a big return for the right team that fosters his growth and development.

I like Garrett but we can't control that anymore. Just have to hope the Browns fall in love with someone else. There are a lot of teams that will be eyeing a QB (49ers, Bears. Jacksonville?, etc...) so they might not want to miss out on the QB they like. This year reminds me of when we took Kap with Dalton right in front of him. We went for the pass rusher in Aldon and then traded for a QB later. A bunch of teams will be looking to trade back into the end of the first or early second to land that next tier of QB's. Now that Trent is gone, we will have a new coach and GM. They will want a new QB so wherever they draft him, I hope they make the trade necessary to do so. We also will have the most money to spend in FA then any other team. I don't want to go crazy in FA but Trent did nothing last year .

Ideally landing Garrett and trading for the QB later would be my dream. (I'm fine with Mahomes, Falk, Kizer, etc...)
Whoever comes in won't reach for a QB at #2....Nobody wants to hitch there wagon to a reach. Allen would be a good pick to pair with Armstead and Buckner...depending on who is our DC we may end up in a 4-3, which fits our current personnel pretty well...Bowman can play the Will/or Jack linebacker, Brooks plays Sam and our glaring need for a Mike but up front we have better DE types then OLBs and our 1 tech would be all NT with our 3 techs being our current DT.
1st rounder in terms of athletic talent

For people saying he is raw, he is more polished than Kap who was just outside the 1st.

Guys like Locker or Tannehill went around top 10, and I like Mahomes much more

They deserve to be taken after the 1st round

All of the QBs in this class do. Not one of them are ready to take the reigns from day 1 which is why I like Mahomes value in the 2nd, possibly even 3rd so much.

Brooks wil probably be gone but we should definitely target Zac Brown in FA. We don't know how Bow will bounce back nor do we know how Armstrong will bounce back but Brooks needs to go and Lynch needs to get his ass back in shape. If we stay with a 3-4, I'd like us to bring in Poe, Williams or Logan and still target Brown at ILB. If we can land 2 to 3 young starters in FA, our draft board opens up. Of the 3 top QBs, Trubisky is my guy but I'd rather take Mahomes later since they both need to sit and learn

Would you take him in the 1st round? Because that is where I think he'll be discussed as we get closer to the draft. A mid to late 1st round pick.

No. Can't see 4 QBs going in the 1st when none of them even warrant top 10 picks. Of course a couple teams will reach and one will fall to mid to late 1st but I'd be shocked if Mahomes isn't there in the 2nd. He is way too raw. Add in Allen possibly declaring and that pushes him down further. One QB will be there at 34, no doubt. People were talking about Lynch going top 10 because of the "need" for QB and he wasn't even close. Too many day 1 impact players in this draft to take 4 QBs that need a year or 2 of developing
