Add in Allen possibly declaring and that pushes him down further. One QB will be there at 34, no doubt. People were talking about Lynch going top 10 because of the "need" for QB and he wasn't even close. Too many day 1 impact players in this draft to take 4 QBs that need a year or 2 of developing

Bears, Jets, 49ers, Browns, Cardinals, Saints, Bills, I could easily see more QBs going. I don't think it is outlandish to believe that Mahomes could wind up in the 1st round after all is said and done, I imagine after the Combine and some team workouts, his hype will only go up.
Give Caserio and McDaniels what they want and get outta the way Jed, then watch this happen

1/4 first draft plan

1st round. Trade back to somewhere in top 11 : Take OT Mike McGlinchy

Trade up to 20 : Take ILB Reuban Foster

2nd round. Take TE O.J. Howard

Trade up late second : Take OLB T.J. Watt

3rd round. Take QB Pat Mahomes , if not there Rudolph

1/4 Free Agent Plan

WR Tyrelle Pryor
G. Luke Joeckel
DT. Kawann Short
CB. A.J. Bouye

Retain : QB Christian Ponder

I think going to go at the end of the first is very realistic. His arm talent is special and combined with his athleticism, someone is going to fall in love with him. His ceiling can be ridiculous if he ends up in the right situation.

I would not be upset if it were us to take him.
Does not have a QB last name. no thank you

Mahomes is that much different than different from Montana?

Hell the Browns, 49ers, Jets and Cardinals needed QBs last draft and none of them grabbed one for different reasons but all by passed them nonetheless. Cardinals need to find Palmer's replacement but no guarantee they do that in the first. They are still in their win now window. Saints as well. Bills may be on the hook for Taylor's contract and Lynn (if hired by them) may want him back. Browns will probably take one because they have multiple picks in the 1st round and the Bears are unclear what they will do with Cutler. Smart money says he is gone but as of right now, we don't know. If Allen declares and now that Kaaya has declared, I can just as easily see one of them being there at 34 (Kaaya may even go later).

They want Jimmy guessing this move means we're going to a 4-3 and Ward goes back to S. If so let's trade that pick for Jimmy while getting a young QB to grow Incase Jimmy doesn't pan out. Also what happens with Staley/Brown, heck Anthony Davis might come back now we're getting a fresh new regime.

D based on your signings.

Lynch-Shortt-AA-Buckner

Oh boy.....well Mike McGlinchy is staying another yr same with Rudolph, Pryor has already told his agent he wants to stay in Cleveland. Short is a 4-3 DE and we have youth at OL OH and we have two TEs that signed extensions...this would be one of the worst off seasons outside of getting Caserio and McDaniels

Sorry

Don't know much about him except that Mahomes is an Irish name, so you're wrong, that's a great QB name.

I think Arians could bang the table for him. That big arm in their downfield scheme would be nasty, once he's done being coached up by Arians.

I can see Mahomes being a fit for the Cardinals. But I can't see Arians being around long enough to see the fruits of his labor.

ROETHLISBERGER
For me, an ideal scenario is for our new GM to make the trade to acquire Garrapolo...then drafting a guy like Mahomes makes a lot of sense. Some will say, yeah, his numbers are great, but he played in a gimmicky offense. What I can tell you from watching him, is this guy has the tools to succeed in just about any kind of offense. He has the size, elusiveness and arm to make it in the NFL. Out of all the QB's who've come out of Texas Tech, he's the guy I think can succeed in the pros. Particularly if Jed can hire McDaniels, I can't think of a better HC for a guy like Mahomes to develop into a fine NFL QB.

Struggled with reads and accuracy against ASU's zone. The physical traits are there but the reading isn't. Even if Chip was still here and were to have the no huddle spread option personnel, Mahomes struggled to hit the HB out of the backfield at times. He'd be more of a developmental project than a day 1 starter for me.
