Patrick Mahomes QB

Nope. That's one of the biggest knocks on him(that and his poor mechanics). The Air Raid offense is very QB friendly, but you can't deny his potential.

He's got similar strengths and weaknesses as Kaepernick did in college, although he's definitely more elusive when he scrambles. Extremely explosive, can rack up yards through the air and on the ground in a hurry but his mechanics are definitely a concern and he has a tendency to stare down receivers.

He's a pitcher in baseball as well. His dad played major league baseball for many years, especially with the Twins.

Sounds like Kap.

He extends plays like Russell Wilson and is able to let guys get open, I just hate that he tends to throw flat footed or while back pedaling. He has the tools and can be a big threat in the zone read, he just needs to clean up the rest of his game. He trusts his arm strength way too much.

Listed at 6'3" and 230lbs. Size isn't a problem with him.

I saw him listed at 6'3", but it's hard to believe it. Maybe his OL is just really tall, but he looks pretty short on YouTube. Maybe it's just because he's built thickly. I'd have guessed 6'1", just from watching him.

Stop being such a size queen. The motion of the ocean is what really matters.

I think he's more elusive but not as fast. Similar yes

Better quickness and elusiveness, face of a 12 year old but actually pretty well developed physically, better proportioned than Kaepernick but similar concerns about footwork, unorthodox delivery and trying to gun the football in there instead of throwing with anticipation.

Compared to Nevada Kap, Mahomes mechanics are much better

Weird. You made it about the penis again. Size matters, in all cases. ALL.

How is he with decision-making, accuracy, poise etc.? Overall who would be the best comparison to Mahomes currently in the league (I'm hoping not just Kap with better mechanics and better lateral quickness )?

Agreed. Mahomes is MUCH further along as a passer than Kap was at Nevada

The tough thing with an air raid qb is judging their decision making is pretty difficult

Just a tough read on those guys all together. We've seen so many put up these gaudy numbers in college then disappear in the NFL but talent is talent and if they have it right up in the head they should be able to pick up any offense.

But certainly when you see the backup come into the game and put up equal or better numbers you have to wonder if it's the system or what.

Honestly, (imo) he's like a larger Russell Willson crossed with a slightly more athletic Brett Favre, stylistically.

He's athletic, shows good escapability, and does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield while he buys time.

He has a rocket arm, which tempts him to challenge small windows and allows him to throw downfield while backing up. I haven't seen another QB do that as frequently and successfully since Favre. Takes crazy arm strength, helps avoid big hits, but can really make accuracy inconsistent.

Not saying hell be anywhere as good as either of those two, just similarities in style of play, and talents.

I like this comparison more. He's nothing like Kap imo in terms of style of play. The biggest difference being Kap was run first in college while this guy is definitely pass first and only runs when he has too or evading pressure to extend the play like Wilson
