I'm sorry. I just don't see it with this guy. He reminds me a lot of Vince Young - very similar throwing motion. I've yet to see him actually go through a full progression. He gets happy feet in the pocket and bails whenever he gets a chance. I wouldn't take him in the first three rounds.

Yes it does. It's the reason why people don't think Watson is the top qb in the draft. His stats say he threw many picks, and looking at them it shows he makes poor decisions at times.
But actually comparing goff's to pat's they're almost identical, slightly leaning towards Pat in most categories.

Not it doesn't. Matt Ryan threw 19 INTs (31 TDs) as a senior and was the first QB taken in the draft (#3 overall). Jameis Winston went #1 overall throwing 18 INTs (25 TDs) as a sophomore.

Well Ryan and Winston came in as more polished passers and was shown to have phenomenal football iq.

It's because teams like QBs that challenge defenders and make tough throws
Outcome of a play is less important than the potential is shows
Just like a QB dumping off a 5 yard pass to a RB who runs it 60 yards for a TD means nothing in draft evaluation

Never said it was the absolute way of picking a qb. You have to dive deeper than just looking at those, otherwise nothing but air raid qb's would be picked.
Wanna know a funny coincidence? RBs and WR's taken first usually have the most yards or touchdowns. Defenders will usually have the most tackles, sacks or picks in their position. O line will usually have the least sacks given up and so on.

That is almost never true. Donnel Pumphrey has 6,290 career yards and 61 TDs and isn't even considered a top 5 RB in this draft. D'Onta Foreman ran for 2,028 yards this year and will at best be the 4th RB taken. Trent Taylor has 1,803 receiving yards this year and chances are he wont be drafted. Zay Jones has 1,746 yards and will be a mid round pick. Reuben Foster the top LB in the draft is 13th in tackles. DeMarcus Walker had 16 sacks and probably wont be a first round pick. Rasul Douglas led the nation with 8 INTs and isn't considered a top 5 CB in the draft.

According to NFL Films producer Greg Cosell, Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes lacks "any refinement and polish at the position right now."

throwing Watson and Ryan's stats doesn't make sense both of them came from pro style offenses not an air raid offense huge difference regarding TDs,yards, and INTs IMO.
Kinda disagree about players with the highest stats are usually the higher picks though.

Sadly for those guys its true. At the end of the day, if you're too big, too small, or not fast enough your stats could mean jack s**t if you don't have the measurables. Or for qbs, if you're don't have the mechanics or run the right offense. Look at Kizer, he has s**tty stats but based on his measurables, he looks to have much better potential than a guy like Kellen Moore, who killed it in college, but doesn't have the arm strength or build to be a starter.

Yea foreman had great stats and is gonna be taken after other guys who had just as great years. Is foreman being taken after guys who ran for 1000 yards and 10 tds in their best years ?
Rueben foster also had the toughest schedule along with being on the most stacked defense so he should be looked at real closely. I'm not 100 percent sold on him being a top ten pick .
Of course there are guys with high stats that won't be picked at the top for a variety of reasons whether it be because of a weaker schedule or just inflated numbers. But point is you won't find too many guys drafted at the top who haven't proven they belong their by putting up big numbers at some point.

Yeah I see no reason to bring up their stats. I think mahomes has some serious skills but is so far away from being a polished qb especially in our new system.
I'll gladly take him in say the 4t rd but all this talk about him being a 1st or 2nd rd guy, no way.
