Patrick Mahomes QB

Fair enough. I'd rather have a QB project who is developing in the wings while the GM/HC figure out the roster and build the roster. I don't think there's another player available that could have the long-term impact of a HOF-type QB. I certainly don't know that Mahomes will be that guy, but I don't see another guy in this draft who could be that guy. Josh Allen could be that guy in 2018 or 2019, but he's more wild than Mahomes, and there's nothing saying the 49ers would be in a position to draft him. The 49ers are more likely to get lucky turning a 4th round WR (or LB, LEO, RB, etc...) into a player that produces like a 2nd rounder than they are to luckily stumble into a HOF QB after the 2nd, imo. It's one pick, and QB's always the most acceptable risk to take, IMO.

We seem to be fixed on opposite sides of the fence on this one. It's cool.

Go Niners!

Yup I've stated he'd be a much better fit for Hue then us...Hue could bring in taylor and draft mahomes with their 2nd rd pick.

They could end up with Myles, hooker, and mahomes with their 1st three picks. That would be money for them

I could definitely see the Browns doing this. They can go:
1. Garrett
2. Hooker/Adams/Lattimore
3. Mahomes/Watson (one of them will likely be there at the top of the 2nd round)

Or:
1. Garrett
2. Trubisky/Kizer/Watson/Mahomes
3. McDowell/Brantley/Wormley (3-4 DE)

There is no reason for the Browns to trade up to #2 to take a QB when there isn't an elite QB prospect in the draft. Trubisky is projected in the top 5 but that's primarily because there aren't any great QBs in the class so need will push someone up. The Browns may very well prefer another QB who could be had later (either at 12 or 33). Coming away with Garrett, one of the top defensive backs in the class, and either Watson or Mahomes would be money.

Yup this is a monster off season for them...I could see something like that playing out

I do see Taylor ending up there as well

Seems like he would be a good fit for anyone looking for a QB.

I agree. Mohomes is the most exciting out of ALL of the prospects coming out. It's a very raw draft class IMO, Mitch is still the safest pick IMO but NO WAY we draft a QB at 2. I'm on the Garrett/Allen at #2 or trade back and take Foster who has the motor of a Willis/Bowman.
Not the strongest arm, but he can push the ball down field and shows a lot of patience, touch, and some very good accuracy.

Did you say Patrick Mahomes doesn't have the strongest arm?

Easily the strongest arm in the draft.

That clip of him throwing 65 yards from his knees is bananas.

"Mahomes has the best arm in the class.

There are plenty of quarterbacks with strong arms. Not many quarterbacks can complement their velocity with touch. With Mahomes, this isn't a problem. At all."

Mhmm. Most QBs in this draft are raw enough to mold them to your system.

There's a vid of him throwing 65+ yards, on his knees...all arm

Don't say that, reminds me of the comments people were making about JaMarcus Russell and Kyle Boller. Once you hear people start talking about a QB throwing from their knees, it pretty much dooms them as a prospect.
