Patrick Mahomes QB

Don't say that, reminds me of the comments people were making about JaMarcus Russell and Kyle Boller. Once you hear people start talking about a QB throwing from their knees, it pretty much dooms them as a prospect.

Lol yeah

But Mahomes has the strongest arm I've seen in the past 5 years or so. I can't think of someone I'd say has a stronger arm. Which is crazy because pro's perfect the mechanics and get more velocity
The more I see of this guy, the better he looks. He throws the ball out like a laser beam so only his receivers can grab it, but he throws it just right on short passes. Unlike kap who seemed like he could only throw it 150 mph. Give him some time and a great o line and he should develop fine. The o line is crucial or he'll get overwhelmed big time like goff

Will be bad for us if he lands with AZ

I wonder if NO takes him to study under Brees?
^^ I notice he does that when he's taking something off the throw, but he has a fairly normal setup/approach when throwing downfield. Very similar to a middle infielder turning two or easing up on a throw near the bag.

Man, great call. That throw is reminiscent of a short stop throwing to second base for the force out.

Would be brutal if AZ got him. Three young QBs in our division that have potential to be there for 10+ years.

NO makes sense too

1. Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech

Mahomes, a gunslinger, reminds of a less refined version of Matthew Stafford. He has similar arm talent and reckless behaviors that will give his future offensive coordinator headaches early in his NFL career. But in a quarterback class that, as of now, doesn't have a sure bet as a top prospect, I can live with taking the passer who has the most upside as a quarterback.

Mahomes is still skittish in the pocket (because of a lack of development, not out of fear of contact) and makes throws and decisions much harder than they should be. But once he can be reigned in as a progression passer, Mahomes could be similar, if not a better version of Matt Stafford or, at worst, Jay Cutler. He's worth a top 20 pick and could emerge as a top 10 candidate by the time the process is through.

See I don't get what was posted above means he's worthy of a top 20 pick at all
An NFC scout says Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes "definitely has the tools to be a No. 1."

"He's big and athletic with big-time arm talent," the scout said. "I know his numbers are inflated but he can make all of the throws. I think the kid can play. ... I like him a lot!" The 6-foot-3, 230-pound gunslinger threw for over 11,000 yards with a 93/29 TD/INT ratio across three seasons. Because he's coming from an Air Raid offense, even Mahomes' staunchest supporters see him as a developmental prospect in need of a long-term development plan. But Mahomes does have support, but inside and outside of the NFL. Ian Rapoport told the Setting The Edge podcast recently that several evaluators have pegged Mahomes as their "favorite quarterback" in the NFL Draft.
I can't wait until after the workouts just to have a better idea where he is projected to land..a lot of ppl love him and a lot hate him, And both sides have valid points why or why not he's worth a high pick, I've been intrigued by this kid since last year..seems like he's the biggest question mark going into the combine this year, at least on this site..going to be fun to watch..

I don't think anyone hates him per see. But some do not think he merits a prime draft pick to get him, particularly one as prime as #2. I think everyone with even a semblance of football knowledge sees the potential, and the talent. But plenty of those types of guys have been a bust too.
Also, his mom is very good looking Always good to have hot mom shots during a game.

Yeah I agree, and honestly he's becoming my fav QB in this draft but I also understand there is a chance he could never develop his game enough to succeed in the league..I'm just going to enjoy the ride and hope he doesn't end up with the cards bc I'd hate for him to develop into what a lot think he could be abd have to face him 2 times a year lol
