That scouting report is trash. They report him at 6'4" (he's just under 6'2"), they list his passing instincts as poor, they ding him slight on off the field concerns for no reason, and they have his "release quicks" at a merely decent 8.5, even though he can go from sprinting with the ball fully tucked to his body to throwing an accurate 15 yard pass in one step. The combined traits that go into passing instincts are all garbage. His football IQ is well above 7.0, and his pre snap reads are on point, not 6.5. He's on record admitting in film sessions that the proper, carbon-copy read on many plays is the checkdown, but that he was given license by his coaches to make a play down the field if he liked a matchup and he could move the safety away from his target. That's not a bad read or low IQ, that's following coaching and making it work, and he made it work most of the time. There's so many damn internet scouts out there publishing sh!t, and not enough of them do their homework.

Obviously Mahomes is your favorite QB, so any sort of criticism to note is deemed trash it seems. lol

He was measured at 6'2" at the combine.

So you have a problem with this because everything was not rated a 10???

I'm pretty objective, actually. I gave no criticism of their negative view of his mechanics, because I think the criticism has merit. While he has displayed the ability to throw with proper footwork, he rarely did so on tape. He deserves those low marks. I thought it was fair of them to wreck him on mechanics, but praise him for stying loose under pressure.

IMO, there's not another QB who can get the ball out more quickly than Mahomes, especially on the move, so the lowered score on "relaese quicks" seems silly. I've read/heard nothing but positive remarks on his off-the-field persona, and growing up in MLB locker rooms was considered a major plus, so it's tacky as hell that they mark him down for that category w/o any explanation.

Where did I say that? He's a smart kid, w/an incredible feel for the game, so marking down his football IQ w/o nothing in justification except, "TT does not run a lot 'pro-style' concepts" is garbage. I have no problem with him getting dinged for his mechanics or his on-field decision-making. I picked three specific areas on the report to criticisize. There were several other areas that scored below 10. Read harder; you'll get better at it.

I really think hes going top 25..Texans are sitting at a perfect spot for him..i think hes going to be special, love for the niners to take him and shanahan teach him for 1-2 yrs while Hoyer starts but I think hes gone before the 2nd..and trading up before 25 would cost them their 3rd which I don't think they want the do..

Peterman at 34 is really flippin early. I'm taking him 3rd round at best

No reason to put a lot of stock in that, its done by a website called "Optimum Scouting" which is no different than any random poster in here posting their thoughts. Its not even a very well done website.

Very true about Cousins so with that point being said the niners might not actually grab a QB until the 3-4 round..

Agree. That's a much more concise way of saying what I went on and on about.
