I know this has nothing to do with his play, maybe leadership lmao, but I just turned on an interview of him and couldn't believe the sound of his voice. lmao He sounds hilarious.

What is hilarious about it? Have you never been to Texas or something?

Maybe it's the strong Texas accent that they weren't expecting. It doesn't match him but whatever, as long as he doesn't sound like Mike Tyson he should be good. lol

I would not be surprised if he is the first QB taken. He has good mobility and the most live arm in this class, and someone will take a shot on him in the first round.

One of the most important traits of a QB is leadership skills. Listening to this guy talk, I just can't see players taking this guy seriously. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you're lacking those leadership skills, forget it. This guy didn't have it. I don't care what he's showing on tape

So because of the way his voice sounds, he's not a leader, got it. I wholeheartedly disagree with you guys saying this and find it pretty petty and immature to say the least. I've served with guys back when I was in the military who were English Secondary Language types and were the greatest leaders I've ever been around. Lead by example is the type that I followed, not lead by sound of voice

There is a difference between a second language and a cartoon voice lol

I do agree that it shouldn't affect his leadership if he walks the talk and all that, but if he isn't a great natural leader, lmao then his voice could become a huge joke in the locker room and on the field by the opposing team.

It just shocked me cause I didn't expect it. It was hilarious.

Yeah his voice does sound funny lol. My only point was that it doesn't mean he can't be a leader.

I had a fellow team leader in my platoon who sounded like Larry the Cable Guy, but he knew his stuff and trained the hell out of his guys, and no one cared that he sounded like he couldn't count to purple.

One of my first team leaders played weired techno music in his dorm, laughed like a soprano gremlin, and talked like a zit-popping kid in the AV Club, but he could PT like a machine, so no one said a damn thing. When you put in the work/earn the respect, no one gives a damn what you sound like.

This guy gets it

Don't associate caffeine with one track minds. Caffeine is for those using a lil octane boostmin their day

Meh. This guy is a young Kap. Can't understand how everybody was whining for a pocket qb who can go through reads and then want this guy because he has and strong arm and has cool highlights. People talk about his intangibles, his desire to be great. Well if you don't have a desire to be great you never will be especially at the qb position. So I don't really care about that.

I guess if this guy sits for at least a season and and half he might be something. As a prospect he goes against pretty much everything everybody has been whining for minus a strong arm.

actually the whining has been for a qb. This guy has the most upside in this draft. which doesnt mean much. but if he can be has in the second, which is pushing it... the value is twice as good as drafting SCRUBisky, or watson

Could you find a lazier comparison?

Kap's last 3 years at Nevada averaged over 1100 yards rushing per year. Mahomes had 800 yards rushing in 3 years. Read option vs air raid. Mahomes had 5052 yds, 41 TD vs. Kap 3022 yds, 19 TD as a senior.

Now compare that to Goff final year at Cal
Goff had 4714 yds and 43 Td. Mahomes had 285 yds rushing as a junior compared to Goff's -62.

Combine 40 results; Goff 4.82, Mahomes 4.80. Kap 4.53

Kap and Mahomes are nothing a like.

The best comparison for Mahomes is a more athletic Goff.
Mahomes completed an 80 yard pass during his pro day. His arm strength is through the roof.
