how many execs need to show up and see PAt to not show interest? Because Peters, Mayhew and Lynch did. and they interviewed him. But yes you confused the hell out of me also

Oh yea, the interest in him is real by many teams....be interesting to see how this gambit plays out.

me either... Just noticed how he got the award for the nations best qb, had excellent yardage, great td to int ratio, but hes supposedly the 3rd best qb. God I cant remember the last time I heard 41 td and 10 ints for a 9ner qb.... id cream my pants if i ever heard that again
Kind of waiting to see evaluations of his pro day. If its good, he'll be gone by the 6 pick and the 1st QB taken. They'll need to pick him at #2. Just like last year, in the early going, where Goff and Wentz weren't expected to go in the top 5. Then the trade ups and they go 1-2. Would be hard to pass up a good trade deal with Panthers or Jags, but if Shanny really wants him it will have to be at #2

dude he played in a air raid system...those guys always put up crazy stats. Goff had 43/13 last yr, Colt Brennan had 53/13, Harrell had 48/14 and 45/9 etc...I can't put a ton of stock in stats there.

He's got crazy arm talent and if he sits for a yr or two could be special...taking him a two let's not get silly here.

I'm not saying he's the next great franchise QB or anything, but I do think he is a rare talent and I believe he will be taken in the first round. I agree with the thought that even if we trade down to 8, he could very well go at 6. I think he shows that "it" factor more than all the other QBs unless you factor in some of Watson's abilities.

I'll be the first to admit though that IDK sh*& though, hell I swore Alex Smith was going to be "light years" better than Arron Rodgers.

How does a fringe 1st rd pick go to top two based on a pro-day

Hype, that's how.
From Tony Pauline at Draft Analyst:

The workout is over and from all the people I've spoken with, it was a very good day for Mahomes.

He tossed about 70 NFL-type passes and looked very good.

There were a few deep misses but from what I'm told they were as much a result of weary-legged receivers not being able to run to the ball.

Mahomes lined up under center and took snaps, something he rarely did in college. He handled the ball well and there were no bobbled snaps. His footwork looked much improved dropping into the pocket from under center.

Mahomes still has a lot of room for improvement, but I'm told he's made incredible strides since his combine/pro day training started.

Who was on hand?

The Seattle Seahawks had several people on hand including general manager John Schneider.

Others:

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch.

New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo.

Cleveland Browns assistant director of scouting Glenn Cook.

New York Jets national scout Jim Jauch.

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, whose meeting with Mahomes one-on-one this afternoon.

id take him over watson and trubisky... not even close for me, he has a better arm, and is more atheltic than goff. goff was a 2, supposedly michelle is a 2, so why not PAT?

Hahaha! Really? There isn't a QB in the draft that'll go top 5, and he isn't even the top rated QB. This is not only Lynch's first year as our GM, it's his first year in any management position. Dude is gonna play it safe, fellas, so calm down. Maybe, MAYBE he looks at him at #34...

LOL the only people "hyping" about it are fans...these guys watch tape on all of the guys all yr. a pro-day doesn't push a guy up 30 spots

like i said earlier those 30 spots according to who? we don't see where lynch has him on the big board. Only thing we see is analysts big boards and mocks. So none of us have any idea. No one saw aldon smith being drafted where he was.... and so on analysts and gm's dont have the same big boards.

If they end up loving him and they think another team in the top 8 might take him, I think they pull the trigger at #2.

Well for starters mich and Watson are much further along as far as mechanics go and it's not like they have horrible arms and can't move around as well.

Goff had crazy good footwork and was very accurate in college. Imo I don't think he was worth the 1st pick in the draft, but was looked at as a top 10 pick throughout the whole draft process PM hasn't.

Look at P lynch dude probably had the best arm in the draft last yr, but dropped to the end of the first. He ran an air raid system and had horrible footwork. He needs time to learn a real football system and work on his timing/footwork.

I think mahomes could be the best qb in the draft but he need to sit an learn for at least a yr or two. No team is drafting a qb in the top 5 to sit and learn...just not. He will have success imo if he goes to a team that already has a older FQB.
