That's not based off when they will be drafted or his big board...it's based on how they will be in the NFL career wise

...and he placed him at #5 overall. All positions. #5. That's like saying he'll be the 5th best player in this draft, which is like saying he's a top 5 player...

I think it'd be crazy to bet on Cousins. Even if he refuses Washington's deal, they have him locked in next year with the transition tag at ~$28MM. If we negotiate a good deal with him, they just match the deal and keep him for ~5 years.

Shanahan has already said that you don't match players to the scheme, you match the scheme to your players.

No you front load it...we have more cash than any team in the NFL.

He started working this stuff when? In January? I'd say he's doing pretty well. His footwork was better than it was at the combine. Mayock himself says that the work he's put in is evident, and that matters more than any hiccups he had. The Saints pick at 11, and the Cardinals pick at 13. Why is 2 out of line?

He didn't say first rd and the saints also have the 32nd pick

You see anybody with any credibility still calling Mahomes a 2nd round pick? Not 2 weeks a go, or last week, but today? The Cardinals don't pick again until the middle of the 2nd. Was Mayock suggesting that Mahomes goes then?

And Daniel Snyder wouldn't cut a player or two to show that he can't be out-maneuvered by Shanahan? I think that would make him even more likely to match the offer.

Go look at that team and who's a FA next yr three OL and one of their top pass rushers...front load it to where then can't pay it the first two yrs. if you think Snyder is gonna blow up his whole team out of spite then your being ridiculous.

If they can't sign him (and it sounds like they aren't) he's got a very good chance at being our qb

I'm with Mad, he goes to top half of the first round depending on who needs a Qb.

My thought was that Mahomes was going either to Cardinals at #13 or Texans at #25. Wouldn't be surprised though if he goes earlier to Saints, or Jets, even as high as #3 to the Bears.

Dude. Extrapolate some. If his game translates better to the NFL than all but 4 other players, wouldn't that make him the 5th best player in the draft, all said and done? Isn't that what you want in a QB? A guy who plays well in the NFL? If he has the 5th best career in the draft class, we'd view him as the 5th best player in this draft, after his career. MD even said, he's putting his cards on the table in that post. He's listing the guys he thinks will be the best. I get that it's not a mock. Tennessee doesn't need a QB. But hey, if you need a QB, and you're at #2, why is it a bad idea to get the top QB, who also happens to be the guy that's gonna have the 5th best career in the draft class, regardless of position?

You mahomes lovers are crazy I'm praying he goes that high so someone wants to trade with us or it drops pro-ready talent down to us

Good lord if that's the case why don't the browns take him at one? I mean qb trumps all positions right?

Then they redo the deals w/signing bonuses and year 2 guarantees, pushing their cap hits to later years, when they'll get cap relief from the decrease in cost for Cousins, once his year one balloon payment is off the books. Easy.

And LOL at Snyder being reasonable. Like, ever.

They might not like him. They might be able to sell "Mr. Ohio" a little better, and they might want to get Garrett and hope one of their top guys falls, if they don't have a wide gap b/w their favorites. They have a 2nd high 1st rounder. We don't.

Shoot, Shanahan might not even like him. I do, and if Shanahan does too, they should go get him. IF he's going to be a pro bowl QB, then he's more important than anyone else in the draft. I think he is. I was pumped when I though we could steal him at 66, still pretty excited when I thought we could snag him at 34, and bummed now that it seems like a lot of the internet is on his nuts. If he's the guy, you go get him. You might not ever have another chance to get your favorite QB in a draft.

lol trashing his team long term?...how about we just sign him to a high contract you know like Washington currently won't do? Why won't they sign him LT now then? You think because we go after him they all of sudden decide to sign him to the contract he's been looking for?
