NFL network tweeted out a quote from Simms. I would search for it but I wouldn't know how to embed it anyways.
The only question, does Shanahan want to take a chance on this guy? To get one of the top QB's in this draft it may take a first or second round pick. With a 6 year contract he can be patient, wait till next year.

If it's true that he is (Shanahan) favorite QB in the draft then I'm sure taking him in the 2nd or maybe even 3rd is not really taking a chance.

I also read somewhere the Kyle isn't just gonna draft a qb to draft a qb he's gonna be patient...if mahomes is there at 34 I think that's a more realistic plan

I enjoy reading your posts NY, honestly, but no way in hell Mahomes is there at #34 ! I believe he'll be in the top 10.

Crazy talk lol we will see
lol, I'll drink to that !

🍻 Cheers

To clarify- it was reported that Mahomes is Chris Simm's favorite prospect. Simms is a close friend of Shanny's. That doesn't mean he's KS's favorite.

He is KS' favorite. Shanny's quote from months back has been regurgitated numerous times..."I want a pure thrower who's fearless".

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MAHOMES IS.

Ballz to the Wall for Mahomes baby!

Mahomes is my favorite and definitely has the best arm in this class. I would be thrilled if he Kyles favorite too.

KS has also said he appreciates a QB who is going to run his offense, make the correct reads and distribute the football accordingly. I'd like to believe m' homes has the ability to do that, but convincing KS he does is what's important.

I found. Misunderstood you. Thought you meant Simms said he was Shanny's favorite.

You're assuming he doesn't turn out to be a franchise QB. How high would you select D Carr if he was in this years draft and and already knew he would be playing like he is? I'm not saying Mahomes is Carr, although I think he is the best comparison. I think its a risk they take if they think Mahomes could turn out to be a quality QB.

Nobody knows how good he'll be. But a 1st year HC and 1st year GM cant take that chance. Also, no team drafts a QB that high unless he is ready to start year 1.

Carson Palmer was the #1 pick in the draft. Sat his whole rookie season.

Didn't say it's never happened. Just not supposed to. Remember the backlash from Goff not starting right away?

This is an interesting point. If we draft a qb in round 1, like say...Mahomes, and he needs to sit a year or two, would Shanny and Lynch cave to the inevitable media pressure during an unsuccessful season and start him when he's not ready (see Rams 2016)? Would Jed mettle and "strongly advise" them to do it?

It's not like we're going any where. I mean we're not going to the playoffs for a while. I don't see where they'd be under pressure to start him early.
