Not bad. Williams/Mahomes combo I wouldn't mind, either.

Corey Davis and Mahomes.

Either combo works for me

would be good but can't see them ignoring defense with the first 2 picks.
How is this guy accurate?

I'm noticing he gets a lot of completions to his RBs, and wide open receivers after coverage has broken down

But watching him make NFL throws is

Ya, I'm concerned with him too. No one can knock him for his arm talent, but his footwork and accuracy are suspect... It will be telling on who they select. Draft can't get here fast enough!

He certainly had some games where he struggled, and we injured for most of the year. Which game did you watch? He played with an injured AC joint after Kansas for the rest of the season.

"He also played eight games with an AC joint sprain in the shoulder of his throwing (right) arm, which is still healing."

He broke his non-throwing hand wrist in the Iowa State game

edit:
Texas Tech's offense design combined with a bad O-Line (and Mahomes trying to extend plays) was a bad combo.

If he ends up starting year 1 with a bad O-Line....uh oh, he will probably get knocked out for the year.

As an observer of Mahomes from an uneducated standpoint as far as how he plays in his system and how that translates to the NFL, it seems like he plays just like other QBs that have bad habits or awkward mechanics, but he still makes plays. He seems to also have a leadership quality to his play. Those traits don't really mean anything because they were never more evident in QBs like Tim Tebow and even Tommie Frazier along with many other great college QBs that couldn't make it in the NFL, but you can also see traits of guys like Brett Favre and Tony Romo and even Russell Wilson, so you just never know how young QBs will pan out.

You can take all the measurements in the world and you can analyze all the film out there, but its really as easy as, you either get it done or you don't and he seems to get the job done.

Joe Montana vs. Houston, he wasn't anything special, until you saw him do that same thing in 4 Superbowls (really only 2 because the others were blowouts) so its truly impossible to try to figure out how good any young QB might become, but the ones that have that winning, leadership quality seem to do well, even with their bad mechanics and lack of measurables.
PFF scouting report.

I think it's pretty fair analysis. Praises his arm, poise, guts, and accuracy. Questions decision-making, pocket movement, and mechanics (duh).
Says he's not a day one starter but worth a 1st round selection.
ON THE SERIOUS NOTE..

Doesn't this kid (mahome), as impressive as he is in work outs (don't forget) , reminds you guys of KAEPERNICK AND RG3??

I mean he's got that Kaepernick diva in him, and he goes out there trying to look so pretty that he reminds me of RG3 and all..

Is he gonna be a head case??

Reminds me more of Johnny on the field for the "pretty" appearance, irrelevant. Not sure where you're getting diva from though? Dude's tough. I think he plays different than Kaep and RG3, more like Russell Wilson (similar elusiveness) with some Favre (mentality) and Big Ben (Tackle shedding, but faster). I never liked Kaep even when he ran all over GB and I never thought much of RG3 except he threw a pretty deep ball at Baylor.

WTH does this mean? Kizer's personality (smart, but introverted/introspective and maybe not fully dedicated to football) reminds me a lot more of Kaepernick than Mahomes'. I have no idea where you're coming up with Mahomes trying to go out there and look pretty (I'm not sure why that would apply to RG3 either). On the field Mahomes reminds me a bit of Kaepernick as far as arm strength and mechanics and they're both baseball pitchers, but their personalities are different.

All the QBs have flaws - Trubisky's are the easiest to fix as long as he's willing to put the time in to learn NFL offenses (he looks awful in whiteboard sessions right now). Peyton Manning isn't the brightest bulb (28 on the Wonderlic), but showed you can master NFL offenses if you put in the work.

Watson: Question his arm strength
Kizer: Question his personality and love of the game
Trubisky: Question his intelligence and ability to grasp a playbook
Mahomes: Question his mechanics
I have to confess that I was briefly curious about Mahomes until I watched his highlight reel and read some of the draft guy's takes on him: QB with a big arm, questionable mechanics and the ability to make spectacular throws when the play has broken down. No thanks, been there, done that.

His draft value is getting hotter and hotter as it approaches draft day...could be the first QB taken off the board.

Yeah, he looks like a top 12 pick now.

Couldn't disagree more with that. They are nothing alike and its very lazy of you to make any kind of comparison.

Idk about that, I think Watson and Trubs go before him and I doubt Watson is inside the top 15
