Nah having Shanahan as his Coach could have worked.

I wanted us to draft this kid... I still think he'll be the best out that class..
Joe Milton at Michigan looks a bit like Mahomes, it would be great if Kyle somehow gets his hands on a guy like Joe Milton who is mobile and also has the mentality of a pocket passer. Looks like Andy's got a gem of a QB in Patrick, hope we can slow him down and make him work a bit for his TD's. His TD's against the Steelers looked way to easy.
Would you trade Solomon Thomas for Pat Mahomes today? I sure as hell would, and we could've used that extra second we spent on Jimmy to go get Harold Landry in the 2018 draft.

I love me some Jimmy G, but Mahomes will be the most exciting and dominant QB in the NFL soon, and for a long time.

NO way, buddy. Go back in this thread. I was banging the Mahomes drum well before the draft. The kid is the right kind of daring, and he has the arm/accuracy to back it up.

Yes, we were both big proponents of him

I'm not surprised in the least. Most of the fans of him said let him sit a year and he'll be great. Reid did it right

I went back on my posts and my last prediction is if we traded back a few spots we should take him
Meh. 2 games. I predict teams shutting him down starting about week 8. Very Andy Reid like.

Which rookie/1st year starter will do better?

I don't think he is as great as he appears to be. I do think he will better than most of the young qbs. We are too quick to anoint a qb as the next great thing. We saw it with Kaepernick. We saw it with Watson last year. We need a better sample size. But to answer your question, I think Jimmy by next year will be way better than Mahomes.

Same here. Mahomes would be a 49er if I was controlling the 49ers 2017 draft. Shanahan described his perfect QB and Mahomes fit his mold to the tee but Shanny was salivating over Cousins at the timeno doubt.

This. The only problems I had about him were his footwork (which jimmy has a problem with also) and his favre like decision making. But he seems well coached and primed to take the league by storm.
