Blowing money because you have it isn't the way to go about building a team...we got some players worth resigning in the upcoming yrs and need some of that cash. I want this team to always be a player in FA
can't do that if you bust your wad yr one with money.

Also imo he's not BPA as a top 10 pick, regardless how bad ass he's is he's a NT and that's not a need. I put Vea in the same realm as Shelton (who I liked a lot).

It's not blowing money. We have like 95 million to spend and we can seriously get some game changers in free agency like Ziggy Ansah and Trumaine Johnson.

Look at the Jags. They went from 3-13 to 10-6 because they signed AJ Bouye, Calais Campbell and Barry Church.

We can do the same and have a quick turnaround and compete with LA for the division crown.

SIGN 2 studs in Ansah and Johnson, sign a linemen or 2 like Pugh and Kline and add a few depth pieces and we still have 40+ million in cap room.

I seriously compare Vea to Ngata. His stats are damn near identical and as I said he is just scratching the surface of his potential.

In our division with David Johnson and Todd Gurley stopping the run is key.

I really like Roquan Smith as well because Johnson and Gurley are such efficient receivers and I think Roquan would shut them down man to man. His instincts would also be HUGE when we play Russell Wilson and his famous bootlegs.

To me we can seriously get a blue chip prospect at 9. All three of Quenton Nelson, Roquan Smith and Vita Vea are game changers. I would be happy with either at 9.

Shelton had 9 sacks his last yr in college, dude was a wreaking ball.

We are stopping the run man. like I said 6th overall in YPC. We need OL/Edge/CB/offensive play-makers over another interior DL.

Smith or Nelson would be huge gets for us at 9/10...I think there's about a .00001 chance they draft a interior defensive lineman in the top 10.

Currently with JG's contract we have $87 million (yes we can make cuts).

The Rams went from 4-12 to 11-5 and their only top tier signing was Andrew Whitworth

plenty of ways to improve a team, I'm not saying they won't spend money in FA I'm betting they will (you saw my mock)...just don't assume they're gonna sign every big name, signing every big name under the sun is how you get in cap hell.

Let's be smart about it

Get an edge/OL and CB in Free agency

Not every big name. Just 2

and that just might not happen man. Got 31 other teams that need help in those areas as well. Build through the draft not FA.

I'd be happy as s**t if we get Butler, Ziggy, and a center in FA but I'm not gonna assume that will happen. I also don't want to massively overpay for all three of those positions.

I don't want to have 4 1st rd picks on the interior DL either. At some point they will have to pay Buck/Solly/Vea and even possibly AA. you shouldn't invest that much money and draft capital into one position. At some point you have to have you coaching staff be able to coach up a guy like DJ Jones or another mid rd pick, especially a NT.

sorry my man I'm not gonna agree with you about drafting a NT in the top 10. Like I said go look at how Seattle build their defense.
I fell i love with Vea while watching Film on Luke Falk. He's SOOOOO disruptive in the passing and running game. He's going to be an all-pro and I have no doubt about it.

Also, I think we need to stop saying things like the rams only signed one big name guy. We aren't the Rams. We have plenty of cap space to make calculated moves that put is in a position to challenge anyone in the playoffs.

The eagles just proved you can win building through FA. Everyone who scored or forced a turnover in the playoffs than Brandon Graham was a 2017 pick for them. There is no one formula, it's about smart roster construction.

That said, it would be wise to pick up a CB, Edge, and 2 OL in FA and build the rest through the draft. We would still have plenty of cap to carry over.

I know. I hear ya. I've just always been a fan of Haloti Ngata and even Gilbert Brown back in the day for GB. Those guys were just so disruptive.

I'm leaning towards Roquan. The thought of him and Foster running around gives me goose bumps. That or Derrius Guice after a trade down. Preferably before Seattle picks at 18.

Yup moving down to get Guice and having two 2nds and 3rds would be amazing in this draft...I think there's a ton of talent in those rounds. I can't see lynch drafting at 10 then waiting all the way until bottom of the 2nd, just too much talent to be had.
if we spend another first round pick on a D-lineman, it better be a LEO.

Especially since Vita would probably come off the field on 3rd down and 2 minute drills from the opposing offense, this pick doesnt make sense.

correct it doesn't make any sense...good player doesn't make sense for us

Vita doesn't come off the field on 3rd downs. No reason too. He's fast enough to get to the QB. He plays on passing downs for Washington. There's no reason he would need to come off the field for us. He's a GREAT PASS RUSHER.

Exactly. People think just because he's big, he can't get to the QB. He'll collapse the pocket and walk up the G/C to the QB if he isn't doubled. Edge rushers would love this. If they double Vea, Buck is killin the Guard.

NY, are you arguing so hard because he would marginalise your boy Solly?!

I do understand your argument though, for me he would have to be comfortably the best player available.

They haven't studied Vea. He jumps off the tape the most when he's rushing the passer. The man is damn near unstoppable and if he's getting 1 on 1 with a G or C then good luck lol
