NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang lists Washington DT Vita Vea as one of the "must watch" players at the combine.
Not only is Vea a gigantic human (6'4/345), he's also an impressive athlete that played running back in high school. We'll give you a second to imagine what that looked like. Rang hears that behind-the-scenes bets are being played that he'll run the 40-yard dash under five seconds, and that he could "turn heads" with his vertical and bench press. "Often compared to former Oregon star (and five-time Pro Bowler) Haloti Ngata over the past two years, Vea may unleash the kind of workout the NFL has not seen from a defensive lineman of his size since Dontari Poe's legendary performance six years ago," Rang writes. If that happens, it's hard to see Vea still being on the board after the first dozen picks.

Your boy at NDT isn't as wild about him as you are as a pass rusher
Pretty safe guy bc he eats as a run defender, but I don't think he's pass rush athletic (explosive, flexible), and he has way too many dud reps as pass rusher https://t.co/rzhGhTYXDC

I respect his opinion but most definitely disagree
All good I like him just not for SF

Man Saleh is salivating over the thought of dropping this guy in coverage.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock says Washington DT Vita Vea is a superior prospect to Dontari Poe coming into the NFL.
"He's a dancing bear. He's a freak. He's 340 pounds and everybody says he's going to run a sub-5.0 40," Mayock said of Vea. "The last defensive lineman to do that was Dontari Poe. He went at No. 11. Vea is a better player than Poe was coming out of college. More advanced. He's a plug-and-play nose tackle in any scheme. If he runs 4.85 or 4.9 at 342 pounds, to me that's more impressive than watching John Ross run 4.22." He's not wrong about any of this. But at present time, Vea has been going in the Nos. 10-20 range in most mocks. Vea will make his case for a top-10 call this weekend in Indy.

Its interesting that a year after we transition from the 3-4, we finally are staring a legit NT in the face at #10 maybe.
Interesting the way things unfold.

I'd like to see Gurley and David Johnson run against that front

Jets just released Muhammad Wilkerson, if they win the Cousins sweepstakes they could take him at 6

I know he will be good at the combine...it's not gonna be a shock.
We don't need Interior DL. Great prospect but at some point you have to measure BPA along with need.
We drafting Rosen if he falls to 9/10? Nope.
