I see they (draft scouts) are comparing him to Vic Beasley....

Yup same with PFF...he's gotten comparisons to Dwight Freeney as well.

freeney? really? Idk i see him definitely as a beasley/Barr kind of guy. Can play SAM and slide down to DE on passing downs

I can't wait til the Senior Bowl..honestly don't recall a time where there were so many intriguing prospects that I had my eye on participating in it.

Landry and Davenport will be a must follow.
Wyatt Teller and Alex Cappa will be huge

And then...Mason Cole, Dallas Goedert, Marquis Haynes, Anthony Miller, Baker Mayfield, Mason Rudolph, Chukwuma Okorafor, Rashaad Penny, Frank Ragnow, Akrum Wadley, James Washington

Not sure if all those guys accepted their invites but I'm very curious how those guys do and if they do accept it should make for a HELL of a game.

Outside of the QBs(unless somehow they're available on day 4) I'd love any of those players on this team next year.

He may not be quite as athletic as Beasley but I saw the same thing during the season. His ability to win the first step, the dip and bend fluidity have shades of Beasley's game when he was coming out.
Posted this to death in the Davenport thread, I'm not sure he holds up against the run, I think he'd be a role player certainly year 1, and maybe beyond.

I'd be happy with this if there wasn't a 3 down player available (still hoping for Roquan Smith).

I'm looking forward to the Senior Bowl

How well does Cliff Avril hold up in the run? How about Von Miller?

How good of a run defenders were Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis? Sometimes you have to accept guys are great pass rushers and understand it comes with some negatives you have to account for.

Landry isn't a dominant run defender but he's not going to be a total liability out there.

i agree. and TBH i saw some really good run stops by Landry. He reminded me of how Aldon Smith use to play the run. Landry does a good job of holding the lineman at the point of attack and when the RB comes by, he is able to disengage from the lineman and make the tackle

Davenport flashes elite use of his length to get his hands on the OL and keep himself clean. He should be able to shed blocks and contribute in the run game very early, imo.

the only thing is that we have a pretty good set of run defending lineman. We need someone who we know will be able to get to the QB fast. Im thinking it could take Davenport awhile to figure it out.

Von Miller is exceptional against the run. All of these guys have had players that 2 gap to cover for them, Saleh doesn't want to do this so it's definitely a factor.

There's nothing wrong with drafting a pass rush specialist, the issue is people overvaluing them.

I don't need people to dominate, but they need to do their job which allows everyone else to do theirs.

Love this time of yr
After watching BC lose to Iowa, I came away wondering where Landry was. He was virtually a non-factor in the game. I agree pass rushers should be a Lynch/Shanahan priority, but I want to see JL draft Bradley Chubb. He looks absolutely perfect for Saleh's LEO position. If he's gone by the #11 pick (that's assuming we beat the Rams), then my next choice would be Arden Key of LSU. When healthy, he's beastly.
