Harold Landry Boston College DE/OLB

This is very lofty praise, as Miller is considered by many of the best players in the game. Still, there's a reason why Landry is getting top half of the first-round draft talk by some, and he was a productive player during his time at Boston College. "When I look at Landry's game, he reminds me a lot of Von Miller during his time at Texas A&M," Miller writes. "Now, that is a helluva comparison for a top prospect based on how the Super Bowl 50 MVP has dominated the league as a pass rusher, but Landry's first-step quickness, balance and body control are eerily similar to Miller's movement skills, including the dip-and-rip move that the Boston College star seemingly stole from the Pro Bowl pass rusher."

There are a few plays where he does look like Von Miller:

I wish Landry's attacks were more diverse. He's entirely dependent on his outside speed/dip. Hands are almost nonexistent. He also lacks a little fire in the belly, IMO.

Are you implying there are off the field concerns with him?

I'm sure you saw this game already but Check 1:10 vs Hyatt . 1:48. 6:15. 7:00 with the bullrush on Hyatt. Nice plays but definitely does need to add some more hands. Didn't use the dip at all in this game but did miss a few tackles Early on which was concerning. Definitely got better as the game went on.
Yup, I've seen that one. Landry was the first 2018 prospect I was most excited about, and my critiques come from a place of love as a fan of Landry's.
Combine will be big for him

i think he is going to shoot up the boards. His physical talents are what make him so enticing. His only worry is the medical check up.
Serious potential. Like you all said - combine and medical will be big. I don't know about top ten , but if he lights it up who knows. He is explosive at times.

If this guy begins a free fall come draft day, I wouldn't mind us frantically making phone calls to come back in the 1st like we did for Foster. Depends on what the combine and medicals reveals of course

i agree.

Reason i think Landry is a safe pick, assuming healthy, is his versatility. Say he doesnt prove to be effective as a full time pass rusher at the LEO position, he has the athleticism to move to the SAM LB position and excel there. I do think however that he will be a great LEO but it is nice to know he could fit somewhere else if it doesnt pan out

Hell yeah.

I saw one mock which had us make the Bills trade down to 21/22 from #9 and then had us in position to draft Harold Landry and Denzel Ward(that guy had us trading down again to #29 and had us take Guice with Ward going at pick #28)

I would absolutely LOVE us making the trade down and seeing Landry and Ward as the picks. Would have this defense take a huge step forward IMO. I'm talking potential top 10 unit if we find fill ins for Foster whether he's just suspended or cut.
Im interested in Landry's measurables. He may be best as a 3-4 OLB if hes too small.

I wouldn't mind a trade down and picking up an extra 2nd or 3rd and taking Landry

We'll see what he is soon enough but Cliff Avril was the Seahawks LEO and he came in to the combine at 6'3 252 lbs. Landry is listed at 6'3 250. We'll see if those numbers stick or be close enough not to cause concerns.

just saw this clip and really liked what i saw against a good team. Depending on if he is fully cleared medically and he explodes at the combine he might be a favorite for us.
