Probably not. He would be a solid pick if we traded down into the teens.
Is Landry a better prospect than Davenport?

Depends what you're looking for. I'll take Landry over Davenport of us and where we are as a team.
I agree with Genus. I think Landry is precisely what the defense needs. His ability to control the arc would force QBs to step up into the pocket into the waiting arms of Deforest Buckner.

Haha still don't get this reasoning. I get that he might not be BPA at 9 but would be at 15; but if he's a "solid pick" for us because of fit and positional need then he's a "solid pick" regardless of if it's at 9 or 19. Yes, if it's possible to trade down and get him while picking up another pick then yes that's the obvious choice. But if no one is willing to trade and he is the guy we need, then you take him regardless.

Prospect, I don't know. Davenport I think has the higher upside but I consider Landry the better and more sure player right now. I personally would not touch Davenport in the top 10.

I think the Niners are a prime trade candidate for the Dolphins who may trade up to get a QB.

It's all about value.

The way our staff picks player is who is the BPA for us. Who's the best player on our board, that's who we take. That's supported by the fact that we were gonna pick Foster at 3 if Solly was taken. Even though it was obvious he was much lower on everyone else's board.

Others seem concerned with who are the BPAs on other teams board. And that strategy is all about maximizing value which is fine, you don't really wanna overdraft. But it would be a much worse feeling if you miss out on your guy cuz you trade back a few spots and be greedy.

Exactly if he's the guy at 19 then he's the guy at 9! Walsh used to say something similar to that

Getting Landry or Roquan after a small trade down would be great. Imagine one of those guys (both likely to be there at 11) AND an extra pick.
6.88 3 Cone.
