Solomon Thomas--Stanford

Wow, was I impressed with this guy vs. NC today. How much better is Jonathon Allen than Thomas? He was a man among boys today against the Tar Heels.

Mentioned him in the pass rushers thread. I think 4-3 DE is his best spot but he would still be effective here given how we change fronts often. He's very strong and a high character guy.
did he declare ?
Damn good football player, I haven't watch too many Stanford games this yr, was he as dominate all yr? That UNC OL was dreadful yesterday

I think he's leaning towards declaring. I saw something a week ago or so. I'd love if he did. Such a strong player
beast of a man. i think he's going to go top 15. he's solely a 4-3 guy. he needs to stay in a scheme where he can move all over the line and get upfield.
Stanford redshirt sophomore DL Solomon Thomas declared for the 2017 NFL Draft.

Projected as a first-round lock this spring, Thomas is coming off a huge season in which he led the Cardinal with 62 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks. For that, the 6-foot-3, 275-pounder was named a first-team All-Pac-12 selection and a second-team All-American. During Thomas' dominant Sun Bowl showing against UNC, CBS color commentator Gary Danielson compared him to Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald. "Thomas sports a power-packed frame and game that translates very well to the NFL," CBS' Rob Rang wrote. "Quick enough to slip through gaps on the interior or stack and shed blockers to pursue running backs, Thomas is an easy first-round projection."
Him and Taco Charlton are sneaky good prospects folks are slightly overlooking.

NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote that Stanford redshirt sophomore DL Solomon Thomas "looks like a smaller version of [J.J.] Watt."

"[Thomas is] fluid, it looks effortless, he can string moves together," Zierlein noted. "There's a wicked spin move there that he hasn't even fully developed yet. He can move around and play different spots." The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder declared for the draft on Wednesday after posting 62 tackles (15.0 for loss) and eight sacks this past season. Zierlein believes he needs to pack on playing-weight as he enters the NFL, but that aside, is supremely impressed by Thomas' technique. "His hands and feet work in perfect unison and he's always working the blocker's edge. Once he's in that seam," Zierlein wrote, "you're finished."
This guy doesnt seem to fit the 3-4. Too small for a DE but too big for a OLB. Seems like another Tank guy that we will have to slim down or bulk up. Unless we move to the 4-3, i say stay away
