LMAO.....Just because it went a long distance on the last play of a half doesnt make it a Hail Mary. If thats the case, a check down pass to a back that goes the distance would qualify as a Hail Mary. It doesnt.
And yes I remember the Billy White Shoes play. Bartkowski threw the ball 60 yards in the air towards the end zone and Johnson made a great play. Quite different that a ball thrown in the middle of the field like Darnold did tonight with the receiver running 35 yards after the catch.
You let me know though if you find any reputable sports site calling it a Hail Mary. Now, the Florida win over Tennessee? THAT was a Hail Mary
Again, show me ANY site that calls the Darnold pass tonight a Hail Mary and I will agree. I dont think you will though.
Hail Mary passes have always been LONG passes intended for a TD catch in the endzone in the last play of a half or game. Doug Flutie. Aaron Rodgers. Billy White Shoes. The Florida game tonight.
Actually surprised a guy who coaches football wouldnt know this. Anyway, find me that site.
