It's gonna take time..

#brickbybrick

In the last two years their team has been picked apart bad. After last years disaster, they just lost their two best OL men. It's only gonna get worse.

Bet the under on whatever Vegas sets their Win total to.

And yet they still have more talent then us lol

Understatement of this short year so far.
Bengals are done, Marvin Lewis will be out of a job at the end of the year .

We can't do that without knowing the odds.

It's guessing it'll be about 5.5

Here we go again lol

Assuming we got the 1st pick and Cousins is out of Wsh. You trade the pick, score a megahaul and sign KC.

I'd say good bye to Cousins and draft Darnold.

lmao. darnold will be lucky to perform like cousins. thats a fact, im not doubting his skills... Just basing it off history

No I'm just being snarky. The odds aren't the over/under number. They're the money line odds (so you know which side of the bet vegas is favoring, and your payout).

Not important. I was just referring to an entertaining thread from a couple of weeks ago.

Ohhh haha. Yea my bad. Coffee hasn't kicked In yet. Read your response wrong
If Darnold is projecting as a FQB prospect I'd take him. Cousins will be 31? You just added ten years (assuming health) to a guy who should be a viable starter.

How many guys who projected as franchise QBs flopped miserably?

Secondly, if Darnold has another good season he will likely bethe #1 pick. Unless you see the 49ers doing even worse next season, they wont be getting that pick without blowing up the better part of two drafts, if a team at #1 is even willing to trade down to begin with.

So if it comes down to it and you have the option to sign Cousins outright or trade away huge chunks of your 2018 and 2019 drafts for an unproven QB prospect, if you even get that option, what do you do?

Well technically any guy we draft is a risk since we have no idea how they will actually pan out, but we do lean on the draft process for best guesses do we not?

Who said we have to trade anything? I said if Darnold is projecting as a FQB prospect I would draft him. I never said where we would to pick etc. We simply don't have a qb with that clout in this draft. sucks

With USC's track record of QBs in the NFL I cant see how you could go wrong.

Yeah, Palmer is the only one that's even been serviceable. Got to break the jinx eventually.

I'm an SC guy and I don't swing from SC player nuts during draft season as I'm also a 49er fan. I'm never as high on SC players as other schools as I get to see all their warts in gory detail to temper their stats (what most people review before the draft, including myself).

Sam Darnald is the most talented QB I've ever seen at SC. Palmer is the only one that had the same arm strength, but Palmer didn't make Joe Montana type throws with Farvre heat...

Guy could fall flat on his face next season but I wouldn't bet on it. If he merely replicates his performance of last season, he'd easily be the best QB eligible for the draft.

IMO, I think it's too early to talk Darnold and passing on Cousins. A lot of scenarios could play out at the end of next season:

1. Darnold regresses and stays in school.

2. Darnold balls out, declares for draft and the 49ers are too out of range to draft or trade up for him.

3. Darnold regresses like Rosen, declares for draft and is labeled as a 2nd to mid round pick ala Matt Barkley and the 49ers won't need to pass on Cousins.

Again a bit to early for my senses.

Rosen didn't regress and played VERY well majority of his games. He's the ONLY reason UCLA had an offense and we all saw what happened when he got hurt. The only knock I have on Rosen is he has a dead nerve in his throwing shoulder and they still don't know if he will ever get it back to full strength.
We'll know soon enough how serious Cousins is about joining Shanahan...'Skins offered him an extension. If he signs it, that ends his future w/Niners. If he doesn't, then I'd say he's serious about coming to SF. Let's not get ahead of ourselves w/Darnold. Yes, he looked real good last year. Let's see if he can do it again...teams have some experience against him now, it could be different the 2nd time around.
