Sam Darnold

Yeah, they are both very raw. I hope neither of them starts immediately in the league and both can sit & learn.

Maybe the Steelers go crazy and move up for Darnold. Doubt it but he would also be a good replacement for Big Ben.
Still a pretty solid showing for Darnold. Got the W. Flashed the play making he has. He knows hell go top 3 if he comes out. Please god
He'd be pretty stupid not to declare if he's projected top 3. He can go ask the former Trojan QBs how that decision went for them

For sure. I think whatever team takes him just shouldnt play him before week 8. Maybe the whole year if they believe that's the right move for his long term success. Worked good with other guys, example Carson Palmer.

Darnold needs to get rid of the ball faster with better accuracy and anticipation. He'd be an int machine in the NFL at this point. A poor mans Carson Palmer with more mobility and not as good deep passing.

Too many bad decisions. Still, he "looks" like very a decent QB at times. Can move the ball in high pressure situations. You can see the raw talent. He's just not crisp or quick making decisions and isn't passing with pinpoint accuracy. Rosen is a much better prospect at this point.

Rosen has 10 INT's on the season missing a couple of games...guess how many Darnold has?

You and your stats.

Rosen still has about 25 more pass attempts (with less ints). I've also seen 3 ints that were off his WR's hands and he has to carry that entire team each week which forces him into desperation plays in an attempt to win games. Darnold isn't in that position this year.

Darnold has better WR's and a better overall team. They still win despite bad games from Darnold.

Anyhow, I don't really care anymore. We have our QB's. Bash Rosen all you want. Strange fetish.

Rosen is now also a coach killer and is looking at the potential of leaving college with a loosing record this season, a stat that is always a MAJOR red flag....

Goff had a losing record in college (not in his final year, but for his career) and was the #1 pick. Whether Rosen goes 6-5 or 5-6 as the starter this year doesn't matter at all (I have no clue why you think it's a major red flag). Rosen has been terrific this year, but he doesn't have a lot of help on offense and UCLA's defense stinks.
This guy blows
How can Rosen be a coach killer when the same coach is in place?

Stats can be so misleading. You have to look at the type of system that they play in and the type of throws they make plus the reads they make.

Does the QB have to make adjustments at the line? does the QB have to read the defense pre snap? can the QB make NFL throws (Which are way smaller windows than in college)?

A lot of evaluating a QB is more than just stats. Example. C.J. Beathard. Nothing about his game is pretty but he is a capable nfl player that at worst is going to be a solid backup. You'd never know that just by looking at his stats.

Ya, I totally agree. I didn't feel like getting any deeper in that post. Have done that with him before and it always goes back to stats. I was actually going to use Beathard as an example as well since his stats weren't so great in 2016.

Stats!
