Sam Darnold

This dude is legit. I haven't wanted a qb on the 49ers this bad since Andrew Luck.

There are gonna be 3-4 qb threads this year that will get massive and people will spend hours going over which one is best and on and on......then we gonna sign cousins and it won't matter.

That being said I will be one of those people.

And guess what, 49ers might not get any of them.

Prove me wrong please Shanahan and come away from next years draft with either Darnold or Rosen.

We're signing Cousins and drafting him a new toy.

That's the route I think Shanahan will go, and no I wouldn't be mad not one bit. lol

Calvin Ridley, Deon Cain or Courtland Sutton!!!!

Pulling out the crystal ball...

I do think we draft a QB in the 1st around 4-5 years from now. Cousins will be on his last contract, a short one, and the kid gets time to sit and learn.

He really does everything well, and I don't say that lightly... He looks legit in all facets of the game: size, arm strength, pin-point accuracy, footwork, poise, escapeability, throwing on the run, throwing from the pocket, going through progressions, and improvising.

Could easily start in the NFL and be productive, with good potential of being great.

We want him plain and simple. He looks like Peyton Manning / Andrew Luck / Matt Ryan / Aaron Rodgers amalgamate...
Lol at people here not wanting him just because of his mechanics. I guess some here don't remember Aaron Rodgers funky mechanics coming out of college where he held the ball near his ear when he dropped back.

He seems accurate, has a strong arm and has NFL size. He looks good in the games. Everything is to like I think. Too much is made of the mechanics stuff. As some others said some did not like Aaron Rodgers mechanics when he came out of college. The bottom line is does the ball get where he is trying to throw it? I think the answer is yes. He seems to have pretty good pocket awareness too. He goes through his reads and progressions. I would still like to see what he does this year at USC but I like what I see so far. There is a lot there IMO. A lot to like and a big upside.

Watched a little more Sam Darnold, and I have to say that I like Rosen's game a lot better so far. Darnold looks smart & coordinated, which were the qualities I like in Connor Cook, but the dude looks even more heavy-footed than Rosen, and Darnold's delivery is not pretty at all; it's long. Dude's got a Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar-like sky hook thing going on; I foresee a lot of fumbles. He also doesn't seem as accurate as Rosen (or Trubisky).

In fact, I might like Trubisky better than either one; although Rosen is better in some areas. I definitely like Jared Goff more than Darnold so far.

Still have more games to watch though...

Oh, and please spare me the "rookies are busts" posts because that's ret**ded. Calling a QB a finished product after his rookie season shows you're clueless about how they develop.

Eh Rosen is the best out of those 3. At least for right now. Trubisky and Darnold are really unkown because of their lack of game experience.

You guys may want to watch both QB's more closely next year. Because I've watched Rosen and Darnald.... And I do not feel the way you guys do.

But will more than likely be the #1 pick. I see him as a Cam Newton, Andrew Luck type of prospect in that I can't see him going outside of the Top 2 picks unless he gets injured. He is very impressive

I think his accuracy is his biggest question mark. He misses some really easy throws.

A dude who has the most flawed mechanics we've ever seen of a top QB prospect just got taken in the top 10.

Nobody will pass on Darnold due to mechanics.

All of this.

I haven't seen a player as well rounded as this dude, and he's only 19.

I wouldn't mind tanking for him. I think Shanny and him can bring home Lombardis

Footwork is bad and is in shotgun a lot not much under center runs a simple offense un like the pro style
