Arden Key-DE/OLB-LSU

Hands are most active on arc rushes(like Landry). I'm only one game into 2016. I'm going to go through all the 2016 tape that's available.

Marries the hands and feet with an inside jab step and swat to capture the corner. Good timing and nice footwork around the hoop. Very nice. His motor was solid in this game.

Finished five games. It's mindboggling how often offenses left a TE/RB on Arden Key. Easy work for him.

IMO, Solely based on their 2016 tape through five games, Harold Landry >>> Arden Key. They're very similar in regards to their pass rushing approach. Both are dependent on their arc rush. The difference is Landry has a trump card with his elite bend and ability to shrink his surface area around the arc. Landry is the football version of ant man. It bugs me even more that they haven't brought him in for a PV.

sometimes you have all you know about a player and its enough where you don't need to bring him in. they interviewed him at the combine and Landry said it went really well. I can tell he really wants to be a niner, probably as much or more than foster wanted to be. lets hope lynch likes him as well
Embrace it now or anguish later.

Staying in the denial phase with Key, I've moved onto acceptance with Rueben. I can allow it to play out as it shows that we will support our troubled youngsters.

For the few games he will be able to suit up prior to suspensions?

If they draft Key and he goes off the rails, Shanalynch will have found their own version of Baalke's ACL tear schtick.

For all we know Fitz and Key are big smoke screens.

Arden Key tested below average while only weighing 238 pounds. NFL draft history is littered by ectomorph edge rushers like Barkevious Mingo, Dion Jordan, Randy Gregory, Manny Lawson, Aaron Maybin, heck, Leonard Floyd now, who have averaged a total of 2.5 sacks per season among all 6 of them, and the ones who have produced anything (Lawson and Floyd) were elite athletes. I think almost regardless of where you draft him it'll end up being a waste of a draft pick.
