IMO yes. He's got the size and speed to go against blockers. Landry needs to rely on speed (and he's no slouch either).

From some of our draft experts, I get the feeling that Chubb is just a bigger and stronger Landry, with all of Landry's speed and agility. I think that's why a lot of our resident draft experts are rating Chubb the highest defensive player in this draft.

I wouldn't class myself an expert, but that's not quite accurate. Chubb doesn't have all of Landry's speed and agility, however he does have enough speed and agility, to go along with his other strengths.

Chubb is ready to come and give NFL Tackles fits right now in many different ways, none of the other Pass rushers in this class are yet.

Some have specific strengths that will make them occasionally effective, Landry with his burst/bend, Holland with his hands, but Chubb is the only complete package.
How much would it cost for us to trade up for this guy? AA and a bag of chips? A third rounder? I think we can get him if were aggressive
I don't see chubb as a high ceiling guy. I think he has an incredibly high floor, but i think he will cap out on 8-9 sacks a year, which is not bad at all.
Not really too sure about that. I think he might be special and with our interior dl 8-9 sacks might be 10-15.

Better? No, just very different kinds of players. Chubb is your classic Big End who's going to be on the strong side end but do most of his damage inside the T's. Landry is a speed rusher rushing from 7-9T working almost exclusively outside the T's.

That would be great on the strong side.

Ideally Solly goes there if we get a 3 down elephant. Imo.
Chubb is the only guy I would trade up for... we are cozy with Denver, what would it take to trade for their #5?

Our 2nd would just about do it normally, however in a QB heavy draft the price can get inflated. That's a bit too rich for my blood.

Chubb is certainly the best pass rusher in this class, but IMO the cost when added to the fact that we'll get a very good player by waiting at #9 makes it unwise.

Yes I agree about the price to jump will be inflated this year... I remember when we traded up two slots in the top 10 to draft Andre Carter 7th overall, Seattle raped us for a 3rd rounder that year to do that...

That was not trade rape, it was fair value. Costs more to move up in the top 10.

Fair value to get to 5 is our 2nd and a 5th. Denver might take a 2nd straight up if they truly prefer to move back but if there is a QB still on board and they are fielding calls from QB needy teams we won't wanna compete with those offers.
