John Elway's offensive draft record since 2011

I'm not really disagreeing with this, but wouldn't the influence of two head coaches have something to do with it?
So that's only 1-3 rounders? Cause some players are missing from that list.
Where's Booker? He started 6 games last year.

Lynch started 2 games last year.
Ty started 4 games.
Heuerman started 2 games.
Latimer started 1 game.

All those guys could play a decent roll for the team this year.

His first few years Elway built his offense mostly of veterans and drafted defense heavy and they won a ship.

This is pretty silly.

Just found it interesting that Elway has struggled as much ad he has in drafting offensive players, especially considering that a key part of their personnel department is now here with the 49ers.

Not a single one of those qualifies as a good or even decent player.

And somehow Adam Peters is considered a good evaluator of talent?

FWIW he was not the GM in Denver.

They have drafted well defensively. Peters also was there prior to Elway when they drafted guys like Thomas and Decker.
This is what I was talking about when everyone was praising us picking up Peters. Living in Denver I tell Bronco fans that Elways a horrible GM when it comes to the draft. He's had some UDFA and a few defensive players drafted that have worked but in the most part his team is built in free agency. Now I do think Lorenzo Doss, Booker and Henderson were good picks but Lynch, Gotsis and Ty were downright horrible picks. And now they are having a QB competition where their 1st round pick Lynch can't beat out a 7th round pick.
I saw someone post this while Larry Kruger and John Middlekauff were going back and forth yesterday over where Elway stands as a GM.

How can you possible know now how good half of those players could become?

Lynch could be their QB at some point?

Sambrailo is listed as their backup at both T spots. He could take over in a year or two and be a starter for 10 years? Or be a backup for 10 years. Or be out of the league in 2. lol Same goes for Heuerman at TE.

Booker who was a 2016 4th round pick not listed looked really good in camp until he broke his wrist, per nfl radio.
Connor McGovern was a 2016 5th round pick and listed as backup LG.

Trevor Siemian was a 7th round pick in 2015 and could be the long term guy?

In a few years those players could be their foundation for the offense, who knows?

Like I said the list you posted doesn't show all the daft picks or the big picture. It's kinda premature to treat him like Trent already. Even tho I can't stand Elway's face and want to punch it.

Elway has drafted 5 QBs since 2011. I'd say at least he's trying. lol
Elway seems to have struck gold with 1st rd pick OL Bolles, who's going to be his starting LT. WRT Peters, he's been widely regarded as one of the NFL's top talent evaluators. He's been part of three Super Bowls championships, five conference titles and 10 division crowns during his time with both the Pats and Broncos. I'd say that's a pretty impressive resume. Elway's had more to do with Lynch being where he is today than arguably anyone else...and he just got a hefty extension to stay with Denver, so despite some misses in the draft, he's still The Man in Broncoland, and will probably continue 'til he's tired of football (i.e. the 12th of never).
So being a GM that was able to lure and acquire one of the greatest Qb's out there, grab studs with potential in later rounds, get steals on contracts for certain players (continues to do so) and takes chances on project Qb's;one he knew they shouldn't rush... and that's the equivalent to a bad GM... ? Damn, we have been missing out for a while now, we don't even understand that being able to lure great players is a good thing anymore.

Not every draft is perfect, but he still acquired other capable players on the other side of the ball, while also being able to retain key pieces for their franchise for upcoming years at key positions.

Damn, let's just hope everyone one Lynch's picks pans out otherwise next season half of you will be calling for his head!

I live in Denver too. We probably need to meet up and watch some 9ers games. I have the ticket with 2 55 inch and a 40 inch in my living room. So 3 games are always on. You are more than welcome to come over and drink some cool ones as I know ZERO 9er fans here.

Anyways, it is a f**king blast to listen to Big Al on the fan. He is literally s**tting his pants over how awful the broncos could be. He thinks their 3rd stringer will be ahead of Lynch on the depth chart when the season begins. He thinks Lynch is an absolute scrub and might take 4 years to develop into a starter. 4 years!!!

The Broncos are absolutely f**ked for the foreseeable future. Their offense is one steaming pile of s**t! And that great defense...its only getting older. Good thing the Panthers played like absolute dog s**t in the SB.
