This was supposed to be a WZ secret! He was mocked into the third right up until the combine. I'm legitimately sad right now.

I think Hysterikal was preaching the Alexander gospel before me but I've been on board for a long time now as well. I want him on this team. I think he will have a marshon lattimore like rookie season

Just seems so unlikely. No way they take him at 9 and he is too good to last until the end of the 2nd. With his strong combine he could have gotten himself into the back end of the first now.

His best tape was in 2016, it's not like he crept up on anyone. Everyone just convinced themselves he was outside of the archetype in a year with a lot of ideal body types, then he turned out to be dimensionally similar to the top guys and... damn.

Yeah I've been pounding the table all year how good he was. What did he allow like a 17 passer rating when targeted. The fact it took them to see him at the combine to realize how good he was is embarrassing.

17.7. Ridiculous. For perspective, you allow a 39.6 passer rating if every pass thrown at you is incomplete, so his play was amazing.

That's just nuts. And I really like Denzel Ward but him being rated number 1 is a joke imo.

I don't get how people were okay with Josh Jackson and Denzel Ward at 9 but not Alexander now. He answered the few questions I had about him. Now he is firmly the top corner. I for one would have no problem taking him at 9.
Jaire Alexander, Louisville- Somewhat of a forgotten man due to an injury-plagued 2017, Alexander is a lockdown cornerback who hits like a safety and has plus ball skills. He ran 4.38, one of the fastest time among the cornerback group. He also had a 35-inch vertical. Solid. His agility-drill times were bonkers. In the short shuttle... 3.98. In the three-cone... 6.71. Those are first-round cornerback -- maybe even Top 10 -- numbers, and he has the film to match.

He might be the firm #1 corner in your mind but I cant find many of the analysts that agree with you. The reason that many people dont think Ward will be the Niners pick is because he isnt big. Alexander, like Ward would be considered a smaller corner. At the combine Ward was faster in the 40, more explosive in the vertical and broad jumps, and stronger in the bench press. Of course the combine doesnt guarantee a players success but Ward was the #1 corner coming in and I dont think he did anything to keep him from going first. I do think, however, that Alexander is now a first rd pick and will probably go before Josh Jackson.

He's the #1 corner because hes the #1 corner. I've seen plenty of analysts that say the same. I don't know if you're only watching ESPN or NFL network but those arent the only analysts out there. Tape says he is #1 and his combine solidified that.

Both corners ran 4.3
Alexander is bigger weighing almost 200lbs as opposed to 183 for Ward
Ward did 2 more bench reps lol.
The rest of this is just goofy and splitting hairs.

None of it matters because Alexander is #1

Give it time. He will continue to climb up the boards.
Love this.

"I assure them that you're getting a versatile player, a guy who can lock everything down," Alexander said. "Very rare that you see a pass getting caught on me. A pass getting caught on me, it's almost history in the making."

Even more reason for him to be drafted. That's a Jersey already sold

Send me some links from a few reputable sites that show this. Would love to see them..

BTW.. you would think that if Alexander is so much bigger (actually 9 pounds 192 to 183) he would have MORE reps and not less.
