Anthony Miller

Yeah, he should be there. I don't expect him to measure up to the 5'11 190 lbs he's listed at. He looks smaller.

I also don't expect him to post a blistering 40.

I agree he will be there, and I agree it's because he's small. But that's an important point. Anthony Miller is a really good prospect, but he's likely going to be a slot receiver. That's not a position the 49ers are going to be looking to spend a second round pick on. Again, he is a stud. But there's just no way that happens. Now, if the team decided that he could legitimately play outside in the NFL, that's a different story. If he's actually 5'11", then that might be an option. But for all the world, he looks like a slot. That makes him a second round pick AT BEST, and makes him not a great fit for a 49ers team that doesn't really need a slot receiver, but has multiple needs at other higher value positions.

Sorry.
I could say with 100 percent certainty that he isn't 5"8

Here's him next to 6"2 Irvin . Looks about 3-4 inches shorter.

And next to Ferguson who's 6"4

While you may be right there are typically larger receivers outside. What about guys like Hilton Brown Odell Diggs S.Smith, they're all smaller guys around 5'10 and they're lining up all over the place, you don't see their teams complaining. But lots of teams want the big guys outside which is understandable but theres freaks like dorial -beck, don Baldwin, moncreif, Brandon coleman, Sammie Coates but just aren't great W's. As far as miller goes, He plays everywhere and just shows a lot of promise. Like I said earlier in this thread I wouldn't be surprised with a good combine and offseason him being picked in the late first
When i saw this kid earlier in the season where he broke out with over a 100 yards and 2 TD's, he popped on film and could NOT be stopped. Had no clue who he was, ive been following him ever since. I get that people are saying hes mainly going to play from the slot in the NFL, but I would be livid if we passed on him with our 3rd rounder, or if we do trade down and end up with a late 2nd and address C and CB in FA. Kid will be great and Kyle would scheme him open all over the place!

Yeah, again, I like the guy a lot. I live literally like 8 blocks from the stadium they play in. I'm not a huge fan, but I do watch the games. He's super solid. I don't hate him at all. It's all about the projection. Shanahan seems to be okay with small guys outside, but there is probably a limit to that. Just saying that it's going to come down to the combine, and how he projects. With a lot of guys, teams will say "well, we can try him outside, and worse case we move him in to the slot". Problem is that we have a slot, and don't need one. If Miller didn't live up to the outside position, it would be a HUGE waste. So, I'm fine with drafting him, but they had better be certain on the fit, and if not, move on. We have a ton of needs.

Love this kid! Sign me up

Yeah im cool going D with our first pick and taking Miller with our 2nd

Nope offense needs to be the theme this yr

So you're all in Nelson in the 1st im guessing?

OL and general...I'm still a fan of Conner Williams and doing what Miami did with tunsil yr one and throwing him in guard.

Realistically we can move down get OL and then with our 2 2nds got edge rusher and grab a guy like miller

All the numbers could be off!!!! Besides I don't care, he can play outside, he has that body control and positioning that allows him to win contested catches, doesn't have to go over a CB
We'll find out next month how tall/heavy he is.

Sorry.

You really think 1-2 inches in height is going to be the difference between success and failure?

Again, this sort of mentality is why people passed on the likes of Sam Mills, London Fletcher, Steve Smith, Antonio Brown, etc.

Meanwhile, J.J. Stokes gets traded UP for to be the 10th overall pick. Oops.

Nobody fails because they aren't the prototype. They fail because of either a lack of talent or a lack of work ethic. Or both.

The original question was will he be available in the second. I have no reason to believe the NFL won't view him as a late 2nd to early 3rd round prospect. I like the guy, but I am more intrigued by Deontay Burnett or Dante Pettis in the same draft range

I think people will be drawn to the height weight speed guys, but I actually think when all is said and done he will be the receiver talked about from this class. I think Miller is best receiver in the draft, though he'll still go in the 3rd round

Anyone else think Tyler Lockett (3rd rd) is a valid comparison?

Lockett is more explosive. I said TY with a lil more toughness lol .
Actually, I thought of a better comparison: Gary Clark with Beckham Jr's hands.
