Too many nightmares of Edmunds running the wrong way and Russell Wilson taking off for a long gain because the guy has such poor awareness on the football field currently.

Edmunds might eventually be a better linebacker than Roquan. He isn't one right now. You're basically drafting him hoping that he can eventually perform at the same level in terms of play recognition and real time processing.

What are basing he's not good taking blockers from? He's shown the ability to do so on tape. Which I have yet to see from Roquan.

What matters the most is if he can beat the lineman to the spot. They both can, but Edmunds is just better at it

Yeah, we're just going to have to agree to disagree there.

So no proof to back up ur claim? No gif, or PFF link.

Come on Phoenix, you're better than that.

It's good to have healthy dialogue.

No point, we both have our minds made up. I think Roquan is a much better player now and if you draft Edmunds then you're investing in a project that you hope in a year or two can be as good as Roquan is currently. I'd rather go for the guy who is ready to play at a high level right out of the box.

You don't agree, neither of us are changing our minds at this point so once again, lets just agree to disagree.

How can a GIF or link prove who can do it better?

This particular discussion all you literally can do is agree to disagree.

You can prove both can do it. You cant prove who does it better.

Going back to my seat now....
With the 9th pick in the 2018 draft, the San Francisco 49ers select, Roquan Smith.

Toomer and Malcolm to compete for the other.
We sped our rebuild up by 2 years with Jimmy G. We invest a 9 pick on Edmunds with his age it would make sense if we were in the position we were in without a an...but we aren't. Edmunds will be dominated by grown men for the next few years. Smith is a way better investment given the situation that Foster is in now. He is a 52 clone.
We just aren't meant to have a dominant LB or ER, are we?
After the Froster debacle, this team especially needs leadership. I think guys like Roquan and Minkah give you that in Costco super economy sized amounts.

Clean character guys who can run a defense and know how to be leaders on and off the field.

I hope they can duplicate what the Falcons did in the 2016 draft where they found their starting MLB AND WLB in the same draft.

I hope so...pretty deep draft for LB esp. coverage LBers.

Actually I agree with all your points about Roquan. If we picked him I would be content with the pick. Edmunds imo wouldn't have the impact Roquan would his first year.

What I disagree with you mostly is about shedding blocks. Roquan is better at beating his guy to the point, but Edmunds is better at engaging and shedding lineman.

I hope they focus on talented, clean character prospects with strong leadership traits.

Enough with the knucklehead space cadets.
Here we go with maybe picking a LB again. We just did this......
