Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia

Lol then take Ward. I did give two options.

If there is no attractive trade down offer giving good value, pick Ward. While I'd prefer to grab Landry a bit lower, picking him is fine too if no good offers to trade down.

If we draft ward, who do you bench? Witherspoon or Sherman ?

Williams?

Well since Sherman probably won't be healthy to start the year we can make that decision later
Ray Lewis was 6'1" and considered undersized when he was drafted. I think he was in the low to mid 230-240 pound range.

Sherman is supposed to be a go at the beginning of camp.
You want undersized? Look at Telvin Smith.

Roquan isn't undersized. Just because guys aren't 6'3 250 lbs doesn't mean they're undersized.

Lavar Arrington was about as prototypical NFL size at LB as you can get and his career was injury riddled and short lived.

Truth. Plus, with the league still trending more and more towards passing, you need LBs with speed and coverage skill much more than size nowadays.

Not good news. I want Roquan as he's the safest pick. Complete plug and play LB. Fills a need, is a born leader and will make us forget about Reuben fast. Praying he's there for the taking...

Great news then. Nelson or Landry.

They know nothing, they still think the Bills will pick #12! More trades are a coming.

If Mcshay said it... its not true

I'd love to have Roq and Landry both on the board at 9 to up our odds of drafting one of them but perhaps having Roquan go before our pick could increase the odds of Landry being the pick if Roquan is gone.

I wouldn't hate if Nelson fell to us and we took him over Landry if Roquan was drafted by the Bears or Colts but I always prefer the guys I like go before our pick instead of having us pass on them.

Would much rather see them play well for teams picking ahead of us so there's no "we should've taken him"

I think when it's all said and done 4 QBs go in the top 8. You know who they are.

Chubb, Barlkely are not falling.

That's 6 players who are gone before our pick.

Then there's Nelson. Who positional value aside is the best prospect in this class. I would be surprised if he's there at 9.

IMO if Chicago is on the clock and Nelson and Roquan are both available they're going Nelson. The guy is a perfect fit for them, there is a coaching connection there and with a new offensive minded QB and a young QB to protect and a hole at LG on their OL...it makes too damn much sense for him NOT to be the pick there.

So that's 7 guys who are gone before #9.

The others - Roquan, Edmunds, Fitzpatrick, Ward and Landry.

And if for some reason Rosen does fall to #9 then we'll be in great position to move down. I love Landry but it may be worth the gamble to get a haul at that point and try to move up to get him or hope he falls to us.

Yeah, no way Chicago passes on Nelson.
Who knows no one knows for sure how it's going to play out but it should be a crazy first round.
