A future 1 is tough to swallow. I'll be modest and assume we draft around 16 (8-8 season) I guess Landry is worth 16 regardless. It's the 2nd as well.... and my cost a bit more. Hmmmm

yeah I'd throw our 2019 2nd this yrs 2nd and a 3rd to move up to get him...that would be the most.

Peter king was reporting today that mid level picks (2nd-4th) hold more value this yr because a lot of scouts feel there's a ton of talent to be had in those rounds (drop off isn't that great). I kinda agree with that. He said Baltimore is a team that might be willing to move down for not a ton. I'd bet they'd swing that trade, they need young players on that squad.

Smith at 9, Landry at 16, and we'd still have 6 picks DO IT.

Gave up the next years first just to move up from the second round to grab Mark Ingram at number 28 from the patriots. Their pick ended up being 27. Ingram was a big piece for them.

If you think you make it far then you're trading a late first next year and a second this year for a mid round first. That's a steal

I think you partially misunderstood me - I am saying even at 8-8 were probably picking middle round - its still kinda worth the trade imo. Assuming smith and Landry pan out. If we win more than 8 even better. It's certainly a gamble, but I'm thinking it may be worth it.

Also taken before were Nelson at 2, Landry at 4, chubb at 6, Derwin James 7.....

Yes totally. It's a great debate. I think I'd do it. My mindset is very different now that we have Garoppolo. The super high pick is important when you are hunting for that QB. We have the main piece. Now let's build a wicked o-line and defense
