If we get Roq at 9, PLEASE let Landry drop and let us come back to catch him. That would be an A+ for me regardless how the rest of the draft went which I would miss anyways cause I'd still be doing things in my bedroom from Thursday night through the weekend

I'd trade our second and 2019 first rounder , maybe one of our thirds to move to the teens for Landry.
That 2019 pick should hopefully end up being around 28-32 anyways
That be such a f**kin beast draft

Not just no but hell no! I'd be pretty pissed if we give up a future 1st for anyone that isn't a franchise QB.

Man I'm not sure how I feel about that!
A future 1 is tough to swallow. I'll be modest and assume we draft around 16 (8-8 season) I guess Landry is worth 16 regardless. It's the 2nd as well.... and my cost a bit more. Hmmmm
Roquan and Landry would be a sick haul alone....

If you're expecting to go 8-8 then obviously it's a bad move. Was watching old drafts and saints were ballsy as f**k. Gave up the next years first just to move up from the second round to grab Mark Ingram at number 28 from the patriots. Their pick ended up being 27. Ingram was a big piece for them.
If you think you make it far then you're trading a late first next year and a second this year for a mid round first. That's a steal

I think you partially misunderstood me - I am saying even at 8-8 were probably picking middle round - its still kinda worth the trade imo. Assuming smith and Landry pan out. If we win more than 8 even better. It's certainly a gamble, but I'm thinking it may be worth it.
Crazy but I'll take Barkley. Bpa baby.Originally posted by Mertonschickendance:Locked on Niners podcast had bears writer on today's episode. Picked Smith at 8.
Also taken before were Nelson at 2, Landry at 4, chubb at 6, Derwin James 7.....
This scenario is like worst case scenario and if it happens trade down or take Saquon Barkley
Yes totally. It's a great debate. I think I'd do it. My mindset is very different now that we have Garoppolo. The super high pick is important when you are hunting for that QB. We have the main piece. Now let's build a wicked o-line and defenseOriginally posted by GhostOfBaalke:Originally posted by Cisco0623:Originally posted by GhostOfBaalke:Originally posted by Cisco0623:Originally posted by GhostOfBaalke:Originally posted by 49ers808:Originally posted by Heroism:Heart is with Roquan; brain is with Landry.

My bad . Yea I misunderstood . Now that post makes sense lol.
If people are ready to draft Landry around 9 this year then they should feel comfortable trading our second and next years first.

Why? If they think the player they're giving up next years 1st will help us win now more than a player in the 1st next year then it's worth it.
I don't get why people see it as mortgaging the future when you get 2 firsts one year.

Exactly. Think of it like this .
Would you trade 2017 pick 59 and 2018 pick 29-32
for
2017 pick 13-16?? I damn sure would.
If you got big time confidence in the squad and think we could at least reach the conference championship then it's a great deal
