Is there a weakness at all on the defensive side?

It was taken out of our hands. As far as this season goes smith >>>> foster. Would have made a great replacement.
i really wanted that Smith/Foster combo. But not only was it taken out of our hands, I think we did okay in our own right.
Yes we did. My top two were Smith, Derwin.
I'd still love to have Derwin don't get me wrong, but given what Kyle wants to do with the o-line McGlknchey has been fantastic I'm glad to say and I'm one who has preached o-line is everything so I'm really just admitting I have a man crush on Roquan

Roquan Smith is absurd.

Four games of at least 10 tackles in the last seven weeks, 63 in that span.
3 sacks in that same time, now tied with Akiem Hicks for second on the Bears.
His hot stretch now has him 11th in the NFL in tackles (81), already one of the NFL's best ILB's.
This is with him having zero training camp and being a part time player his first few weeks.

From the midpoint of the college football season last year this guy was my draft crush. The bears broke my heart when they snatched him just before us. F**k Chicago lol.

Roquan is currently 18th in tackles w/91. Warner is tied for 16th w/92.

It's ok, I like him too but he has better talent around him and better defensive coach. He's made to succeed in that environment

Already better than Reuben Foster

As much as I like Roquan, the 49ers were never in position to draft him. McGlinchey has had about a good a season as you can hope from a rookie tackle and Warner has been good at MLB so the 49ers made out better than okay too.

He's no Darius Leonard though. 135 tackles, 7 sacks as a rookie (second rounder). 4 games left.
