Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia

I can also add I am mad at the Browns for getting OBJ and the Giants for making the deal with the Browns instead of us!

Be mad at the Raiders.

None of the other things are things to be mad about.

We got Mike McGlinchey who is a great OT for us and have Warner and Kwon playing great(and not being inactive for no good reason)
Allen Robinson hasn't done anything close to be worth his contract amount.
And OBJ would've cost us Nick Bosa....so what are you really mad about?

Also, was not getting Roquan Smith really the worst thing? He's not even the best LB in his class as it stands right now.

Great post!

I am so glad I was wrong in my thoughts on what we SHOULD have done when those players were available.

So far it is all working out.

Only because Vander Esch absolutely was balling out of his mind as a rookie which wasn't a slight on Roquan who played at a Pro Bowl level pretty much all season as a rookie after missing out the entire preseason.

Yes, and Edmunds playing a superior level now as well. Hope Roquan isn't melting down. Curious to see what's happening in Chicago.

Wow. Now he's out indefinitely after acting "erratically". Strange times. Hope he's ok.

Edmunds is a very good LB, still prone to the same issues that he struggled with in college. Roquan and Vander Esch are great LB's. Maybe Edmunds gets to their level eventually but not there yet.

He's dealing with personal issues, whether that might be the loss of a close friend as rumored or something else, there is no evidence that he is "melting down" anymore than Goodwin was melting down when he took time away from football.

Why? Neither of those teams are better than the Niners? And getting Mack would have cost us a ton of draft capital. Plus Jimmy >>>> Trubisky

Not just that but we got Ford, Bosa, still have our 1st in 2021 and an extra 3 million in cap space.

Not sure what else there is to say in regard to Edmunds. He's a top LB in the NFL through 4 weeks. Looks incredible in virtually all facets of the position. Sunday was a clinic.

Hope the guy can recover from whatever it is, and not the beginning of a never-ending downward spiral.

Was hoping to see a bit more info on the specifics. "Personal Issue"? Relationship? Family member? Drugs/Alcohol?

Only the Bears know. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. Plus, he'll have reporters in his face asking about it whenever he returns. Hope it's not family related. That is truly a worst case scenario.
Edmunds, Smith and some dumbass talking up Jaire Alexander in the draft war room. Wait what year is this
Hopefully it is not a mental health issue.

He made some nice plays but just because the announcers point him out doesn't mean he was putting on a clinic or that he's somehow one of the best linebackers in the NFL.

The kid was always a physical specimen with athletic ability off the charts. His issue was his athletic ability would sometimes get him into trouble. Now Buffalo has some great pieces in place on D so if he keeps playing well and within the system he'll be a pro bowler for a while but it's early to call him a top LB in the league.

Just wanting to be mad. Malcontents. We could win the next 3 and some would still be upset over something.
