Josh Allen OLB/ILB/DE Kentucky

Why?

Not gonna lie, so far it's just a gut feeling. I also haven't seen much from him and fear that he's just a decent player on a bad team. Makes him look a lot better than he really is.
A lot are going to compare him to Tremaine Edmunds from last year, other then age..
Finally get a chance to see this kid. I like what I see so far.

I wish he'd use his hands more.

Pro Football Focus has Kentucky senior LB Josh Allen as the highest graded edge-defender through Week 5.

This would likely be Joey Bosa if he was eligible, but because he's missed the past few weeks with injury, the spot goes to Allen. Deservedly so. Benny Snell gets the most recognition for the 5-0 Wildcats, but Allen (6'5/250) is a big reason for Kentucky's success. He has won 30.6 percent of his pass-rushing opportunities -- best in the FBS among edges -- and he also has a stout 82.0 grade against the run. Allen would have been a late Day 2 pick at best if he had entered the draft in 2018. He absolutely is on the first-round board right now. He has to be.

Clelin Ferrell and Montez Sweat have some competition here!!! Gonna be a exciting time in the 2019 NFL Draft!!!

Good year to be in need of pass rushing help.

Kentucky is undefeated and Allen has played a huge part in that. If he keeps up his current level of play he will solidify first round status.
The hype train is going off.

UK's Josh Allen is soaring up NFL draft boards after a dominant start

Having won three of the first six SEC Defensive Player of the Week awards this season, Allen ranks eighth in the country in sacks (six) and ninth in tackles for loss (10.5) through six games. In the last three games against Mississippi State, South Carolina and Texas A&M, he has totaled 12 tackles, six tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble and one pass breakup.

ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Allen as the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2019 draft this week.

"The thing I'm probably most proud of with Josh right now, the things we're practicing and emphasizing he's been able to put into play in the game," UK outside linebackers coach Brad White said. "I've been able to put cut-ups together and say, 'Look this is what we did in individual (drills). Now look, it's not just doing it to do it. See how it translates. And when you don't do it see what happens.'"

White's coaching has been key in Allen rocketing up NFL draft boards after electing to return to school for his senior season.

I watched the Mississippi state game on this kid and liked what I saw. Definitely explosive coming off the edge. Also seen several plays where he dropped into coverage. I'm just curious as to where he will play in the nfl, in a 43 or 34? I see him being a difference maker at the next level

You mean the same way Khalil Mack looked at Buffalo?

I got a different vibe from Khalil Mack, but I can't explain it with Allen. Sounds unreasonable when I say it out loud, but I'd stay away.
It's completely unwarranted, but I have a pre established idea of Allen being like eli Haorld, and I dont like it

Dude, I had the same thought at one point lol. I need to see more from Allen. He's pretty much just out-athlete'ing people right now.
Strip sack to seal the deal tonight vs. Vandy.

This is exactly what I mean by out-athlete'ing people. Nice job cornering, but I wish he'd use his hands more.
