Agree to disagree.

McShay has us taking him at 4 overall, I'm good with it. Having him and Froster......

Not a fan personally....I would rather have a vet on the other side. At some point we will have to pay all of these higher end defensive drsft picks. IMO I'm doing whatever I can to move down get a OL

I got a feeling Lynch will target a unsuspected player. For instance Lynch was trying to sell his love for Kizer, but I knew he wouldn't draft a QB in the top 10 or even the 1st round. What I also didn't know or suspect is that they were prepared to take Reuben Foster with the #3 pick. I honestly think Fitzpatrick is one of those unsuspected players because he could really fill in anywhere along the secondary.

We still have to dish out cash for vets too i'd like for us to go after these dudes in the offseason pricey or not i think they are worth the price

Trumaine Johnson
Malcolm Butler
Kyle Fuller
Bashaud Breeland

I say we go with Quenton Nelson & just sign a couple of free agents CB's instead of taking Minkah

49ers were always high on him.

From March 31st:

"The San Francisco 49ers are, according to a scouting source with the team, in love with Reuben Foster and Leonard Fournette if Garrett is gone."

"Over the last two weeks there has been a lot of quiet talk from scouts that the San Francisco 49ers want to trade out of the No. 2 spot. It's only news when someone wants to come up, though. Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee tweeted this week that there is "lots of talk/rumor about Carolina ... trying to obtain 49ers' No. 2 pick."

I've heard the same, with Carolina attempting to move up to select LSU running back Leonard Fournette or Stanford defensive end Solomon Thomas. Since the Panthers own the New England Patriots' pick at No. 64 overall, they could throw that in and get the 49ers to make a deal they already want to make—moving back six spots and targeting linebacker Reuben Foster (Alabama)."

Top 10 Pick should always be Defense or OT because that's how you get to always stay around 10 wins and defense should always be athletic as hell.

We should start drafting O skill players mid to late first round since they take longer to develop and we need immediate wins at the moment. This offense is a system reliant offense and doesn't necessarily do a throw it up to the talent type philosophy. Picking a WR in the top ten would not be as beneficial in this offense.

I think he would play safety here. Ward can be moved to corner or off the team, and Colbert was drafted as a corner but has played well at safety. I wouldn't trust him starting there just yet, but having Fitzpatrick/Tartt/Colbert at safety would be fantastic. Versatility and great athleticism across the board.

I wouldn't hate this pick at all.

I would hate it even more if the plan was to move him to safety...all it does is push a young stud like Colbert down (and show other young players even if you play well you still don't get the job).

Ward at this pt is a back story, he's a slot DB (I wouldn't even want him outside) that $8.5 million can be taking away real quick.
I dont think he makes our defense any better than drafting Roquan Smith does given that we have decent pieces at Safety and only have Foster at LB. And I dont think hes a better player than Smith talent-wise. Plus, COlbert seems to be the steal of the draft so far and has graded out well at Safety. With his 4.25 speed, I'm in the camp that says let him play and develop into a high caliber player.

Also, McShay and Kiper are hacks. Kiper more so than Todd, but both seem to be getting paid to be wrong. I mean they have Josh Allen as top 5 pick.

We do ?
If Colbert keeps playing well I don't think this happens.

Barkley or Nelson should be picked.

As appealing as it sounds, none of those guys will make it to the market. They are just too valuable to their current teams.

In this passing league, the most valuable players are: 1a - ER, 1b - shut down CB. I don't see an ER that is worth a top 5 pick but Fitz looks like he is.
O.k., if it's the following scenario, who do you pick: The Niners have the #4 pick and they don't make a trade.

Who would you take from the following:

A) Quenton Nelson
B) Roquan Smith
C) Saquon Barkley
D) Minkah Fitzpatrick

At this time, I would take Nelson as I feel he's that good of a talent at Guard.

As good as Nelson appears to be, I don't see him being worth #4 or #5.

I take Fitzpatrick. Shut down corner with versatility is hard to find.
