How is McGlinchey all of a sudden in the picture?

Hopefully a smoke screen to keep the Raiders from trading up ahead of us for Smith.

Seriously? So you prefer Mike Mcglinchey over him as well?

LOL I think its Fitz or a trade down if at all possible.

Hoping it's down to Smith or Fitzpatrick, if both are gone Landry. If all three are gone at 9 that ain't good.

Warming up to McGlinchey, makes a lot of sense if the 49ers see him as long term answer at RT. He is no slouch and certainly looks the part of a franchise tackle. I think playing next to Nelson he doesn't get quite as much credit as deserved. Make no mistake they were a nasty duo. Lynch seems to always comment on how tough an OT's job is, I'm sure just like anyone he places a lot of value at the position.

I thought this part was interesting

They wanted players who perfectly fit their schemes, especially Tony Dungy's defense. "We were going to draft Warren Sapp, even though he wasn't a very tall defensive linemen, because he fit the under tackle position," McKay said. "We were going to take Derrick Brooks because he could play Will linebacker in Tony's defense. He couldn't play it, maybe, in another defense because some people thought he was too small. So we were very scheme specific and that was very important to us in trying to get things turned around."

Not necessarily just Landry but if they see a guy fits what WE want to do then we take him and fuk what other teams or people think.

Hello Roquan, Minkah, McGlinchey.

Looks like it's down to those three - should be fun.

From the Barrows article:

What's a Monday guy? He's the guy who, despite being beat up, tired and mentally spent from the game the day prior, shows up early at the team facility and puts in a full day's work -- rehabilitating his body, studying film -- to start getting ready for the next game. He's the guy who sets the tone for the rest of the team.
"There are a lot of players in this league who aren't that good on Monday," Atlanta Falcons president and CEO Rich McKay said. "They come in. They're a little tired from the game. Monday's a day I like to measure players. You get to see who's all in and who's not all in."

Two players immediately come to mind reading this:

* The Buccaneers looked for players who had been productive -- the best players on their team -- in college. "We felt like there had been too much time spent in Tampa, especially in the first and second rounds, on players that had great potential," McKay said. "They could run really fast or they could jump really high. And they really looked good in their uniform. But they hadn't really been that productive as college players."

I really think the only way the niners go O-Line is if Nelson falls, competition of Garnett, Tomlinson, Cooper and say a rookie like Ragnow would be good..Garnett is the wildcard, if he becomes great in this scheme with his new improved body the 4 or f the 4 O-Line spots are locked with hopefully a rookie locking up the other..

Great article, that's almost exactly how I'd look to build a team. I'm pretty sure that would apply to Roquan and Landry as well for what it's worth.

Derwin James, Saquon Barkley and Anthony Miller are also reported to be like that. Also just because I haven't mentioned him for a while, Shaquem Griffen lived in the film room for a while!
