Why not get the best db in the draft?

Why not draft a guy with a refined position. I wish he was a outside cb

Arik is a goner. But 3 top 10 picks along the d line is still rough cap wise if they pan out so your statement has a point.

Having people to support you is always a big positive. The Cardinals had Honey Badger lean on Patrick Peterson and it did wonders for him.

You can't expect someone to live a stable life if they have no clue what that looks like. The more support the 49ers provide him, the better.

Obviously you're not drafting Minkah for that reason but it certainly can't hurt.
I will be so damn mad if the niners draft Fitzpatrick tomorrow night at the draft . I'm sorry but he is so damn overrated ! In my view, it should be Roquan Smith or Quentin Nelson or trade back for extra picks! Fitzpatrick is '18 Draft version of Jimmie Ward. He's an under powered player at safety and he's strictly a slot corner. He's a high floor/low ceiling player. Sounds like Solomon Thomas part 2 !!

How is he overrated? He has been playing top competition at the highest level since he was a freshman. He easily mastered every position Saban wanted him to play. He would make our secondary dynamic and help the front 7. Np overeating at all....this man is incredible.

Mastered every position? He did a damn good job in the slot, struggled playing outside, rarely played deep middle and was pretty good at strong safety. But for the hype he has been receiving yes I do think he's been overrated.

What does he have in common with Jimmy Ward besides being able to play safety and slot cornerback? Did you even know he was won college footballs defensive player of the year? Over Chubb and Roquan. Low ceiling might want to do a little more research on this guy. He's a ball hawk, that will instantly improve the defense of whichever team is lucky enough to draft him.

Well I think Roquan should have won the award. And it's a college award which means absolutely nothing. Half the players who win college awards don't amount to anything in the pros.

Your wrong he has not mastered every position ! He is a good slot corner and that is his best position . He is a solid safety but nothing special . He can not play outside corner ! I'm sorry but you don't draft a slot corner or safety in the top 10 . If he could be a great outside corner then I would consider him .
Minkah Fitzpatrick is the safe and solid pick but he will never be great or special . If John lynch wants to draft a great player then draft roquan or Quentin Nelson .

What if...and I'm just spitballing here, what if Minkah has his name legally changed to Jaire Alexander, does that do anything for you?

Helps a little.
Lol y'all are crazy if you think he would be a slot corner in his career. Have you seen all the turnovers he created? Since his freshman year? This kid has the instincts needed to play the back end.

11 in 3 years. So about 3.5 turnovers a year.

As a true freshman going forward in Bamas D .... with all the talent bama has...he still was on the field almost all the time...playing top competition. He is special.
