Minkah Fitzpatrick - CB/S, Alabama

I would take James in a heartbeat over Fitz, but i think he will be gone.

And Levi Wallace a walk on started at outside corner despite all the talent Bama gets. Minkah is a good athelete and will be a good strong safety/nickle Corner. I'm just backing up the claim of him being overrated and why some may feel that way like I do.

I've honestly watched more Minkah games than any other player cause I want to see what made him so special. I saw flashes where I was impressed. The plays where he shows he's a film junkie are my favorite not the interceptions on horrible passes. But the plays where pre snap based on alignment you see him calling out the play. And blowing up a WR screen. But the next play he will blitz and completely whiff on a sack do to not breaking down and coming in to hot.

He most definately could be a special player but that goes for a lot of players in every draft. But the hype of him already being a superstar is why some say he's overrated. Or the comparisons to Jalen Ramsey is my version of the people who got triggered over Roquan being compared to Derrick Brooks.

How is he overrated? He has been playing top competition at the highest level since he was a freshman. He easily mastered every position Saban wanted him to play. He would make our secondary dynamic and help the front 7. Np overeating at all....this man is incredible.

Mastered every position? He did a damn good job in the slot, struggled playing outside, rarely played deep middle and was pretty good at strong safety. But for the hype he has been receiving yes I do think he's been overrated.

So more turnovers per year than Jalen Ramsey's total amount of interceptions (zero while playing outside corner) in 3 years (41 games) in college. But Minkah struggled on the outside right?

What other sites have film on Fitz? I only see two 2017 games on draftbreakdown (TEN, ARK). tia

Yeah I don't really care . I'm just trying to make my point of view of why I don't think Fitzpatrick will be a great player and he is not worth a top 10 pick . I will stand by my belief that we should go in a different direction .

I guess we will agree to disagree because your an obvious big fan of Fitzpatrick . I just don't see it . I don't see a top 10 pick . Like I said I don't think he can be an outside corner . I think we should pick roquan or edmunds or trade back .

How does a player who only can play slot and isn't special and isn't great and isn't a ball hawk, get voted as the best defender AND the best DB in the Nation by two different awards?

Also, wouldn't it be hard for a non great player, at a non premier position, to stand out on a historically great defense? Would you care to try to make an argument on who was the best defender on his team if it wasn't him and why you think that?

My only reservation on Fitzpatrick is he a corner or a safety? I'd like to see our pick set at one position. Also, there is so much talent on Alabama, getting a read can be difficult because there are so many good players on D it can mask deficiencies.
