Minkah Fitzpatrick - CB/S, Alabama

If Minka is the pick we just wasted 8M on the other Ward.

When Ward has won two of the most prestigious collegiate awards and only the 3rd DB to do so along with Patrick Peterson and Charles Woodson then you can compare him to Minkah.

That's true he did have more turnovers than Jalen. But if you can honestly watch Minkah and then watch Jalen in college and see the same player then I disagree.

I like Fitzpatrick but he isn't the athlete Ramsey is. Ramsey is a freak.

I work a town over from Old Bridge and some of the women I work with have teenager and older kids and know the family from local youth sports so they have been around him and the family. Nothing but nice things to say, great kid, great family. Lost his house in Sandy and helped a lot in rebuilding every weekend.

My only reservation on Fitzpatrick is he a corner or a safety? I'd like to see our pick set at one position. Also, there is so much talent on Alabama, getting a read can be difficult because there are so many good players on D it can mask deficiencies.

Did you have the same reservation for Ronnie Lott or Merton Hanks? I'm not saying the Fitzpatrick is at that level, but it is possible to be great at multiple positions without being a jack of all trades.

Also, did you have the same reservations when drafting Foster? Did you think his deficiencies were masked by the talent he was surrounded by? Or did you think it was that much more impressive that someone could stand out on a team with that much talent around him?

Lol, so more than 50 of his outside corner snaps, he shut down his man and the QB had to go elsewhere?

What traits do you see in Jalen that you don't see in Minkah?
It's like you guys are trying really hard not to like fitzpatrick. I don't get it.

Interesting debate, the kid seems to play everywhere when he is called upon but hopefully we get Landry.

That was from a yr ago...he said at the combine his optimal position was in the slot.

Do you believe a young man, who is an alpha dog on the field, and is going through the draft process, would say he prefers the slot because he doesn't believe he can play outside?

That's one way to read it I suppose. The other is that Minkah is going to be a colossal bust if taken in the top 10 and expected to play outside where QB's roast him on the regular, supported by the stats above. Minkah and Davenport are the 2 guys I want selected @9 the least. If they are the pick I will root for them and hope they do well, but both have high bustability imo.
I would be good if this was our #1, don't think we can lose between this, Roq, or Edmunds

Help me understand this graphic. It says he had 9 snaps at outside CB, and was targeted 4 times. Where is the 50 snaps coming from?
I think he meant 50%.

So why the f**k not say that?! He's a slot DB that can be used all over the middle of the field. Show me the flim of him being a lock down outside CB?

I like Fitz and wouldn't hate the pick but stop trying to say he's an outside corner when there's no proof to back it up.

Huh? He had 9 snaps not 50. QBs had a passer rating of 110.4 when he was on the outside.
I'd have no problem if he was the pick but play him where he's been a stud at. That is all.
