Remember Miami is really bad so almost any player from our D line or practice squad even would be an upgrade for them.
I don't think MIA wants to upgrade. Seems like they want to downgrade while stockpiling picks.

No way should the Niners give up a 1st right now.
They may need that 1st to draft a QB if things don't go right this year. In general, I'm opposed to trading future 1sts until the Niners are 100% sure they have their franchise QB on the roster.
Now, if they can get him for some combination of Solomon Thomas, Pettis, and/or a 3rd rd pick....then do it.

LOL.
No.
Jimmy G would have to play significantly worse than he did against Tampa in 8-10 games this season for them to consider a QB #1 overall. That's not gonna happen.

I see no good reason to trade for MF...sure, he's a potential Pro Bowl player, but Lynch & Coach have the roster where they want it, at least for now. With the improvement of the front 7, I liken our defensive backfield to Harbaugh's early years in SF...the secondary didn't have to worry about covering guys all over the field because of the constant pressure being applied up front. They could be more aggressive and make plays/cause T.O.'s because of that pressure. I think this defense can do the same thing, so why expend a top draft pick to fix what's not broken?

Jimmy needs to prove he's a top flight QB this year. He hasn't solidified anything yet. If he he's just so-so, then the Niners should explore other options...including using a 1st on a QB.

So keeping Jimmie Ward on the roster is fine with you, when we could get a better and HEALTHIER player under contract for 4 more years. Solid reasoning.

package Solomon and "stuff". So long as it doesn't include any 2nd's or 1st's. We finally have depth and we shouldn't be needing as many picks. Quality over quantity.
