Yep this will determine everything. If he tests well than no chance he even gets to 20.

One thing about Jackson I'd like to see him improve is his run D. Ward is a smaller player but much more aggressive and tougher in run support...however we saw Witherspoon turn it on and Jackson plays the run better so it's a small hole in his game.

I really don't care what his times/ measurables will be at the combine. His tape speaks for itself.

All this hype on Ward and Minkah?....meh...they will probably test better but this kid is a ball magnet. Wed be lucky to have him rep the red and gold locking down other teams "#1 receivers."

Anyhoot I really think pass rusher and C is the way to go in FA. We can grab our CB in the draft. Now if we strike out on a pass rusher then I grab one in FA and take the pass rusher in the draft.

I don't think we should spend more than 30 mill.

Apologies if this prospect already has a thread, but I couldn't find it.

This is a prospect I've been ignoring for us in the first, and finally started looking into him. I know there are concerns about him being a 1-year wonder, but there's soooooo much to like.

- probably the best pure production this year of any player in the draft, at any position and from any conference. He's got Earl Thomas/Eric Berry type production. 27 passes defended? That's not an accident.

- these aren't just base stats. PFF has him as a top 10 player on a down-to-down basis

- outrageous ball skills and big-play ability. 2 pick-6's and both against a good Wisconsin team

- best games are in the biggest games.

- designed in a lab to look like what a CB in this scheme is supposed to look like. 6'1" and plays like it

- outside corner is probably our #1 need, even above LEO (since AA can play LEO at an ok level, but we have no CB opposite of Witherspoon)

- last 5 years or so, 1st round CBs have been major game changers. Most recently Ramsey and Lattimore, turned around their defenses.

- CB is a premium position. A guy like Nelson is awesome, but a guard just doesn't have the impact of a CB or edge player in today's game. We need help at several positions, but none will have the impact of a CB or pass rusher.

- lattimore was a one-year wonder, and turned it up instantly. Which helps with some of those concerns.

If he runs 4.4? He's top 10 in this class. Right in our wheelhouse at 9/10. Drafting him and bringing in a good Leo makes this a top 10 defence next year and gives us a chance to grab the NFC west nest season.

I would take Jackson at #10 - no problem.

CB is a huge need on this team no doubt...but F/A will determine where we go with #1 overall. We also have a huge hole to fill at LB now and OLine needs to be addressed as does Pass Rush, then there is the possibility of a top 5 pick dropping to us pushing BPA.

Redundant post, but this play is precisely why the 49ers will take a looooooong look at Josh Jackson. The guy is tremendous at processing routes with his eyes on the QB from off with shuffle technique. This is exactly what Saleh would have him doing here.

I luv Nelson but I think CB is a bigger hole to fill... I'd luv to see us sign CB K.Fuller and draft this kid at #9 or #10 ...Even better if we could trade back 2 or 3 picks and still get Jackson...
