Id be surprised if the go CB with their first. There is so much more FA options at CB than there are DE options.

If they can lock up OL and CB in FA, I can see them trading down and targeting DE like Davenport or Landry.

Should go BPA and not draft off need. If Landry is BPA that's perfect but don't let needs drive the pick unless it's close.

Agreed, but it all depends on value. Drafting Landry at 9 is ughhh.

But moving down to draft Landry with extra picks is interesting to me.

Redundant post, but this play is precisely why the 49ers will take a looooooong look at Josh Jackson. The guy is tremendous at processing routes with his eyes on the QB from off with shuffle technique. This is exactly what Saleh would have him doing here.

Only guy i want in the 1st

No more Roquan. I want this guy. Get Leonard in the 2nd to play MLB.
If Lynch signs Trumaine Johnson as I expect he will, Jackson and all the other supposed 1st rd CB's will likely get drafted by other teams. JL will draft a CB...it just won't be in the 1st rd. If they part ways w/Foster, expect Lynch to draft Roquan Smith. It's the smart play, but not the only one for a LB. If he doesn't sign one in FA, he just may draft two.

Regardless of the situation with Foster drafting Roquan will make great sense, niners LB core might be the worst in the NFL right now, much needed..

Yeah, now lets name our almighty CB group. As much as I love Roquan Smith, a CB is much harder to find and draft an elite one than a Will LB
Depending on what happens in free agency of course will determine whether CB or LB is a more pressing need. But I do believe we will have a shot at both Roquan and Josh Jackson and I'd be extremely happy with either cause I think both can be elite at their respective positions.

Yeah, I'd be jacked with Smith or Jackson, but we have to win the coin toss to have a chance at Smith. If not, Jackson should be there for us at #10.

I agree too, I think the CB need is taken care of in free agency and the niners take a CB in the 4th..so if that's the case Smith is my choice assuming Chubb, Barkley or Nelson are gone..
Man I wish Ward was a couple of inches taller...but then again he wouldn't be available if he was when we pick.

The more I watch him the more I like him over Jackson. Jackson is very talented too but IMO has more work to do as a cover guy. Bites on a lot which is typical with ballhawk players who take risks.

Gun to my head I'm taking Ward but would be happy with either.

Yeah, I like Ward, too. He'd be the perfect CB to cover the slot. Jackson would instantly be our best CB in the outside. Both are good players, but I like Jackson just a little bit more for what we need.

I think Ward can play outside. I do want to see his combine measurables. I'm worried if he comes in below 5'10 then it may be just too much to overcome.

Technically I think most of the receivers in the NFC West aren't super tall but I would like to know he can make up for his height with arm length/jump ability.

I do think Ward is more ready to play now but Jackson has the size and potential to be special if he puts in the work.

Yeah, I'm concerned he may measure shorter than 5'10", too. HIs jumping ability and arm length will become a factor.
