Joshua Jackson CB/Iowa

👀

I had the chance to have dinner with Ohio State WR Parris Campbell about 2 weeks ago (I will talk more about this later in another thread), before he decided to return to OSU for his senior year. I asked him which draft eligible player stood out to him this year, and the first name he mentioned was Jackson. He said that he was a "legit" player. Now, Campbell was out in that game because of a concussion, but he said that he was so impressed with his approach to the game.
This is who I want at our current pick today. 9 or 10 would be great to find a quality CB with length and ball skills. I'm kind of hoping we get a sick trade down deal and are able to grab Nelson tho. I would be happy with either
It goes like this for me, if Nelson is off the board then its Roquan, if Roquan is off the board then it's Jackson..
Runs a good 40 a sure top 15 pick just in love with his ball skills

I MUCH rather have Roquan than Nelson. But they're both tremendous players.

Indeed.

Those would be the 3 I want as well although I change my preference of the 3 on an ongoing basis. It really depends on free agency at this point as to what position will have the higher need. Right now it just seems like Nelson is the safest pick in the draft.

Having said that I would pull the trigger in a heartbeat if Buffalo wanted to give us their two first rounders for our pick at 9 or 10. Perhaps that could result in getting two of Landry, Evans, or Ward.

Yeah I agree I'd definitely take both of Buffalo picks for the niners pick..
Would be a very nice consolation prize to have if Roquan isn't available. I'm increasingly like this possibility of this pick since I'm personally not sold on any of the FA CBs that will likely have huge elite $$$ pricetags.
I'm all for him assuming we get edge rusher in FA (which is bigger need than cb)
Boo, Zierlein gave Jackson a tiny profile lol.

STRENGTHS Had mind-blowing ball-hawking season with 27 passes defensed including eight interceptions. Tall with long arms. Allowed 41.3 percent completion rate. Made a play on 25.7 percent of his targets. Makes his own fortune. Instincts are top-notch. Plays the ball and not the man. Flashed supreme ball skills. High-point winner with ability to pull down the one-hand grab. Put together monster performances in big games. Finished with three interceptions in upset win over Ohio State and two pick-sixes against Wisconsin. Anticipates routes. Allowed no touchdowns after Week 4. Spotlight player. Lauded for positive attitude and strong work ethic.

WEAKNESSES One-year wonder. Has just 14 career starts. Early opener from press. Needs more experience and more patience. Too easily influenced by release fakes at the line of scrimmage. Can be turned by quality routes. Doesn't flash a big chase burst when he gets behind on the routes (crossers). Needs to tighten up tackling. Questions are being raised about his long speed. Buys into route breaks a little too hard from trail and can be double-moved.-Lance Zierlein

You think he makes it past 20?

It depends on how he measures and tests at the combine.

Yeah if he does ,don't think he makes it past Rams at #23 is what I'm thinking.

Yep this will determine everything. If he tests well than no chance he even gets to 20.
