One on one vs the Oregon dude is harsh, he made a good play in team drills. He looks like a 3rd down only type guy though, I'm debating whether or not that's worth his likely draft spot.

I'm just gonna call him OO for now lol (that name is redonkulous to write) he's a much much better prospects than that.

IIRC, a prototypical LEO penetrates the majority of the time, making the offensive blocking scheme adjust to him. He wouldn't be called upon to set a classical edge most of the time, if the scheme uses him to attack more than react. Basically, he might not have to do a lot of what he's struggling with today.

Don't we want an actual 3 down player? I don't want to watch Thomas at LEO again.

Don't know if that player is in this draft. Most of the better edge rushers are likely to start in nickel, which isn't the end of the world since defenses typically spend 75% of total snaps in nickel.

We just need some damn edge rushers to get to the QB on the money downs.

This isn't directed at you, just a general tone here. But if none of these guys really are a fit why force the pick this year? We need one but a ho hum pick for a need is like AA all over again.

Exactly why I don't want to draft an ILB. I would rather wait for that guy.

I want to bring in Ziggy and have him be that three down LEO. We can still draft a speedy edge guy to bring in like Elvis as a nickle rusher. Can never have enough pass rushers

I would rather use our 2nd and one of the 3rds on a TE and WR. I just hope we aren't forcing it.

Yup and Our coaches aren't looking for a three down Leo. They want someone who can get the QB on third downs, and also move that player around. We do fine on first and second, it's third that kills us.

So @ 9 or 10 you want Nelson or BCBA (best corner available) or neither?

My flow chart?

Barkley-Nelson-Jackson
I get fans have favorites...but to say he's the best pass rusher in the draft might be pushing it a bit. Okoronkwo had 8 sacks & 75 total tackles, 17.5 for losses in 2017. There's more than just sacks, but I haven't seen an FBS Div 1 stat on pressures like the NFL does. For comparison's sake, Chubb had 10 sacks & 72 total tackles, 25 for losses. Justin Lawler had 10 sacks & 74 total tackles, 15 for losses. Nwosu had 10 sacks & 75 total tackles, 11.5 for losses. Clemson's Clellin Ferrell had 10 sacks & 66 total tackles, 18 for losses. TCU's Mat Boesen had 12 sacks & 64 total tackles, 15 for losses. There's no doubt Okoronkwo is a stellar player, but so are a bunch of others.
